That's the greatest challenge for Xi. Eliminating poverty, easy peasy. Grow economy during covid, no problem. Find 20 guys to play soccer and get in world Cup for China? Good luck, wait another 100 years.

Westerners trying to slander Chinese athletes again by accusing Lu XiaoJun of doping? Even if he proves innocent, they will use this case against weightlifting to remove them from 2028 Olympics. Pathetic westerners.

This news greatly saddened me this morning, but I wouldn't make that accusation. They've never been caught doing that to an athlete before and if they were to do it, they shouldn't pick EPO. EPO is basically the only thing where you have a decent chance of the B sample coming up negative after the A sample is positive because of how unstable it is. To get a solid disqualification on EPO, you often need a police raid finding the substance on your premises. Everything else is basically done after the A sample.

They say all weightlifters do a little something; I don't know. But I know that Lv is getting very old plus his next challenge must be the 73kg division, as his favorite 77kg has been erased and the 81kg which he won in Tokyo is rotating out of Olympic contention in favor of the 89kg class (much to Tian Tao's delight). That means that he'll be basically 40 and needs to lose weight, and he also needs to face off against unbeaten Shi Zhiyong for the gold. His chances weren't good; if the US wanted to contaminate someone's sample, it should be Shi's and with something more definitive than EPO.

Historic achievement by Wu Yibing who became the first Chinese male player to win an ATP title!
Wu defeated American John Isner in the Dallas Open in Texas.
Big congratulations to Wu Yibing.
Wow didn't realise he beat Isner in his backyard to win it. Not only a historical achievement for Chinese male tennis players but also a pretty tough one to get. Isner maybe getting old but he is still a major service threat. I want to see video of that whole match now lol if they have it online.

From the linked article:

In addition to Lin, the Hungarian-Chinese brothers Liu Shaolin and Liu Shaoang have also become naturalized Chinese citizens, according to Hungarian news website Index.

I am stoked that those two guys decided to join China's national team.
I feel like this has been done pretty low key. Maybe due to online social media hate towards them after the winter Olympics battles. Maybe it will blow over when they start winning medals for China like what Lim Hyo-jun is doing now. It will be a formidable team no doubt.
