Equipped with newest engines? Didn't even know it was inducted into RuAF. Interesting development for this fighter. Seems like an escalation move, maybe in response to the claimed Russian massacre by US forces?

This actually shows RuAF's confidence in this fighter.

Surely never ever the new engines. These two are just two prototypes for IMO pure propaganda purpose ...

Russia appears to have deployed its next-generation fighter jet to Syria — and it's a major problem for the F-22...

"Videos on social media appear to show Russia's Su-57, a prototype of a new, fifth-generation fighter jet, operating in Syria — and it could be a direct threat to US stealth aircraft like the F-22.

Justin Bronk, a combat aircraft expert at the Royal United Services Institute, told Business Insider that initial attempts to geolocate Su-57s shown in the video indicated the deployment may be authentic."

Actually its not a problem, and the misleading headline leads into a very practical, accurate analysis of the motivation and methodology behind the Russian deployment of the SU-57, so I would actually encourage everybody to click on the link, it does back up much of what knowledgeable SDF posters have been alluding to or saying outright, so read the link, its worth your time, and thank you for posting Time-Pass.

and while we are at it, I just love Putin, and the look on his face is "priceless",,, if left to their own, Putin and Trump would be able to show a little respect,,, instead the liberal media have used the Russian messing around as a tool to attempt to put the President in a box, they LAST thing the little Cretans in the press want, is for the US and Russia to forge a better relationship, it would show just how bad things were mucked up before.. foolish, foolish people,, lets get the big three back on track and get back onto a "peace with honor" system where everybody gets a little of what they want and need!

The SU57 is not ready for a combat mission and 2 of them is hardly a
mission ready deployment.
A single fighter and his wingman in a pair of prototype fighters that just started air launched weapons tests a month ago is not a mission capable asset. It's the Same reason why the Israelis have not used there F35. By contrast F22 is a mission ready asset. At best this "Deployment" is just to see how well the craft deals with the Syrian environment and if they can keep the SU57 in a flyable condition with the limited parts and maintenance outside of the Russian boarders.
IF a SU57 encountered a F22 It would be at the massive disadvantage. first in numbers, second in weapons and avionics, Third in maintenance. Even if you are a SU57 fan and view it as a Raptor killer. Right now it's not that. You have the bare bones but not the teeth.
Raptor is a combat ready Aircraft. It has weapons and sensors it's been deployed in numbers.

One shouldn't be too quick or be too sure to make the assumption that israel has not used it's F-35s in combat yet. As circumstances surrounding the so-called air strikes in Syria reveal a lot more than is claimed by the bias and unreliable mainstream media.

===================================

It looks that the Israeli “demonstration of power” during the recent visit of Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu has turned into a total failure.

On October 16, Shoigu arrived Israel for meetings with Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The sides were reportedly set to discuss the situation in the region, including Syria, the fight against terrorism as well as military and technical cooperation.

that had launched a missile at Israeli aircraft flying over Lebanon.

“The army targeted the battery with four bombs and, according to the IDF, the battery was damaged to the extent it was no longer operational. The army said the battery targeted was the same that fired at Israeli jets last March, prompting Israel make use of its Arrow anti-missile system for the first time,”

on the issue.

The Syrian military confirmed the Israeli strikes and said that they caused “material damage.”

It’s interesting to note that, according to the Syrian Defense Ministry statement,

The incident took place at 8:51 am local time.

Could the Israeli Air Force intentionally provoke the reaction from the Syrian military in order to justify the strike on the Syrian air defense battery?

Furthermore, some pro-Israeli experts and media activists clearly linked the incident with the visit of the Russian defense minister to Tel Aviv saying that it was a nice demonstration of power to the Russian-Iranian-Syrian alliance.

However, something went wrong.

According to the available information, the Syrian Defense Forces used a S-200 missile against the Israeli warplane. This Soviet-made missile is the most advanced long range anti-aircraft system opearated by the Syrian military. Even in this case, it’s old-fashioned in terms of the modern warfare.

Despite this, the Syrian Defense Ministry said in its statement that government forces responded to the violation of the airspace and “directly hit one of the jets, forcing [Israeli aircraft] to retreat.” This statement contradicts to the Israeli claim that “no hit” was confirmed.

that the Israeli Air Force’s F-35 stealth multirole fighter went unserviceable as a result of an alleged bird collision during a training flight.

The incident allegedly took place “two weeks ago” but was publicly reported only on October 16. However, Israeli sources were not able to show a photo of the F-35 warplane after the “bird collision”.

Furthermore, it is not clear if the F-35 can become operational again because its stealth coating was damaged. Thus, according to the Israeli version, the warplane reportedly became no longer operational after the bird collision despite the fact that the F-35 earlier passed the bird strike certification with great results (

). The F-35 is the world’s most expensive warplane. The price of developing the F-35 is now about $406.5 billion.

Israel is actively buying the world’s self-proclaimed most advanced fighter paying about $100 million for each plane.

So what did really hit the F-35?

The Su-57s? Those things haven't even reached IOC (if I was the pilot, I wouldn't want to engage any aircraft more dangerous that a Stinger armed attack helicopter)!

Sorry Dizasta. the plane suffered bird strikes and had to be inspected. The Aircraft was returned to service. Southfront was selling a Pile of...

Every chance they have they jump to any downed Israeli aircraft as being a F35, because that is the most state of the art. It's much like how after the 3 day war when the Israelis started winning, suddenly stories of American Carriers helping the Israelis started.

They may have used them/ started employing them in limited engagements but the S-200 business? Well let's not speculate on conspiracy. Some are convinced but many aren't.

Are these two Su-57s combat capable, late version prototypes? It seems questionable these are even prototypes. If their aim is to show it off and do a little PR stunt for the benefit of potential customers, these potential customers who are in the know will not be impressed because either 1. they use them for actual combat which may be impressive but the planes are not ready so success if not guaranteed or 2. they don't really use them at all which not impressive and will work against the effort. The overall opinion around the world would be that Russia is really desperate here and doesn't even know what to do. But who knows maybe two Su-57s are actually enough to take on the F-22s.

This phase of the Program it's probably a expeditionary fielding. F22 back in February 07 before it was Full Operational Capability, was launched to Kadena that was mostly just a test to see if they could do it. when they had issues they landed in Hickam to have a software issue fixed.
Because reality check here 2 SU57 with a little over a month into weapons tests are not going to be able to contend with a Squadron of F22. And even if they did that conflicting would lead to World war 3.
Syria is the second most tropical out of boarder military base Airbase is in Syria. the other is a Naval base in Vietnam.
for a Aircraft intended to export, Changes in Climate can mean a lot. For example there were early issues of Russian fighters being exported to Asia had issues of fogging displays due to humidity and heat that wouldn't have been found in the Urals and Siberia.
So I think there is a Rational reason why to send a machine or two to Syria without the politics. Had there not been a war on this would still make sense to proof the machine in the climate, to make sure that the stealth coatings hold up to the warmer dryer climate.
