Just to be clear, I'm not saying otherwise. I am simply pointing out that in general, when a military force cannot achieve air superiority, it will fallback to ground based firepower. I am aware that Russia is doctrinally, an artillery-based army.
Russia doctrine is airpower based not artillery thats why you see so many Attack choppers and Su-25.

In Russia, they begin to modernize missiles for MLRS. For the first time, part of the elements from missiles for Russian multiple rocket launcher is planned to be replaced from metal to polymer. Modernization will make it possible to reduce the cost and speed up the production of missiles, make the hull lighter, and the missiles will become more long-range while maintaining the same dimensions. Which MLRS missiles will be upgraded has not yet been reported. Most likely, missiles for the TornadoS MARS, Uragan MRS and Smerch MRLS will be upgraded.

In Russia, they began to produce sniper cartridges 10.3x77 millimeters Cheytac. Until recently, American and Australian-made cartridge cases were purchased for cartridges of this caliber, and gunpowder was purchased in the USA and Finland. Now mass production of 375 Cheytac caliber cartridges has been started at Lobaev Arms, located in Tarusa, Kaluga region. Lobaev Arms specializes in the production of civilian and service sniper weapons, the rifles of this manufacturer are popular all over the world. The Russian cartridge for sniper rifles is assembled from shells developed by Lobaev Arms and gunpowder from one of the Kazan enterprises. The Cheytac-type cartridge was created in the USA in 2001 by designers John Taylor and William Wardman. According to some reports, the maximum range of the Cheytac cartridge is 3000 meters.

Okay serious question, hear me out:
Why doesn't Russia have SSBNs in Lake Baikal?
Think about it. They'd be completely immune to American SSNs. Baikal, while not the ocean, is still massive, so there would still be considerable uncertainty about where exactly the submarines were. And even if the US did know, it's also an exceptionally deep lake, with an average depth lower than the max dive tolerance of Borei's, so they could just camp hundreds of meters underwater and be immune to any atmospheric detonations. Russia is very lucky to have something like this, China doesn't have any lakes anywhere near that size, and its biggest lake has an average depth of under 30 meters.
It's literally perfect. Totally survivable, totally flexible deterrent.
Why haven't they gotten on this?

Who says they haven't?

Submarine bases and the associated infrastructure are huge, you can't really hide them. Even if you could, it would be better if the US knew anyway, the whole point is deterrence.

Because the logistics is not there.

How the Russian intelligence complex Ironia-M is used in Ukraine. Russian servicemen spoke about the experience of using the Ironia-M reconnaissance optoelectronic complex in Ukraine. The reconnaissance complex "Ironia-M" entered the special forces of Russia in 2015. The multifunctional optical-electronic complex is designed to search for the enemy and conduct surveillance of the area. The main element of the complex is an optical-electronic device weighing about 3.2 kg.

But you have a lot more artillery units in terms of kind, possibly in the tens of thousands made, with a huge variety, and a massive reserve of shells that hasn't been depleted to this day. The Soviets have the biggest and most powerful artillery including the world's largest mortar and the world's largest self propelled mortar. Note how so many vintage artillery units and SPGs can still be used in this war even on both sides in a daily business, but their aircraft contemporaries such as MiG-21, Su-7, MiG-23 and MiG-27 are not.

Separate post

The accidental weapon. The UR-77 Meteorit was meant to be a mine clearer, but it's now being used to clear Ukrainian defense positions in general in a most spectacular manner.
