Just tested positive for COVID via a rapid antigen test, which means I have to isolate at home for the next seven days.

I first had symptoms (sore throat) develop two days ago (Saturday) and did a rapid antigen test that morning and PCR test in the evening, both of which came back negative. I should've done a RAT Sunday as well. If that had come back positive my isolation period would've ended one day earlier. I put too much faith in the "gold standard" PCR test I guess. I have had four doses of the Pfizer vaccine, though the most recent dose was only last week, probably just prior to infection. Saturday night was the worst of it in terms of symptoms, with aching muscles and joints, hot and cold flushes, sore throat. Since then there have been mild improvements, though I've picked up the occasional cough, excess mucous production in exchange for generally feeling a bit better. Still, at this rate it seems likely that I will be ok.

Fortunately, under considerable pressure the Australian government has

The first 3 days are generally the worst (based on experiences of friends), after that you should be getting 'back to normal'. The cough might persist for a couple of weeks though

The cough just don't go away. I got it in May and all the symptoms have been on and off still. The RATs shows me as negative so I am free to spread it in the community lol. This year's flu/corona/cold season is nasty in Australia.
Due to fly to the states in a few weeks so looking forward to spreading whatever I have there lol.....

Let's not.

This may be the "Real Life thread" but let's apply some standards please, and avoid something as sexist and creepy as this.
I apologize for coming across as sexist. That was not my intention. If it helps, Singaporean men are just as ugly as their female counterparts. Singaporeans in general are an ugly and unpleasant group of people. Anyone who has spent a day there will agree with me.

The bigger issue is to have some standards.

Discussing real life interests and events is fine for this thread.
Flippant, potentially offensive and chauvinistic talk in this thread is not great.

Also, a gentle reminder to not quote or respond to moderator red or blue text.

Had an interesting talk with an interesting person in the airline industry. Nothing big, just that China's drive for a high speed rail system domestically doesn't actually mean its airlines get weaker, necessarily. In other words, domestic short haul flights aren't really a necessity to have for a viable airline industry. It just means a focus on hub to hub flights with the spokes serviced by rail.

Now, hub and spoke model is considered outdated due to a preference for point to point flights, but lately airline providers have been operating a de facto hub and spoke model (without many spokes either) due to a number of issues. Anyways, the takeaway is, China's railway development literally a decade ago is somehow softening/avoiding a problem thats occuring today, and also, expect to see a resurgence in interest in widebody, high passenger count planes in the future.

Seems like the Singapore meetup isn't materializing, but one day when I receive my dad's bungalow I promise to turn it into a massive entertainment hotspot in Singapore. If we don't die from the apocalypse first.

I can't stand little India. The entire area smells like rotting meat. Everywhere else in Singapore is clean, but literally the moment u get off the subway at little India the smell in the air changes. I remember walking by a market and they had meat sitting out in 32C heat! No refrigeration at all.

I believe that is the whole point, to give you the genuine India experience.
