They don't.

I am going to take the Trumpeter kit of the Nimitz and completely redo the aft end, the flight dek and the island and make a Ford out of it...including the bulbous bow.

But I already did a redo job on one of them with the island and the bulbous bow to make my Reagan, so I think I will be able to do it.

Mt friend who is doing the Grumman 3-D 1/350 scale aircraft got some drawings I made for him from the pictures that have been out. He needed a good 3 view (with an isometric) so I put some of the old design skills back to use and came up with it for him.

Here's what he has come up with:

I may go ahead and get a dozen of those as well.

The 3D printing world has gone crazy. If you can get a good model of almost anything, they can print it.

So I gave him the dims (42 1/2 foot wing span and 53 feet ong, and with the to scale drawing he was able to build that 3-D model.

It's good to have friends both at Grumman and Boeing and then also have friends who have that equipment. If I was younger and not terminal with cancer I would invest in a 3D printer of some quality and just build about any parts I needed myself.! LOL!

Anyhow, they turned out well an now I am going to have a really good, futuristic air-wing for my Enterprise.

To tell you the truth...I an't wait. I will now buy the carrier kit, the aftermarket photo etch railing and what not, and get all the paints an other parts together and start on it.

BTW, the guy who made the new 6th gen above for me, is the same guy I get the F-35Cs frm (he has both the Alpha and Bravo as well). He also has GREAT 1/350 scale models of the J-15, J-31, and J-20 for anyone wanting to spruce up a Chinese carrier.

He has some other great 1/350 scale models of the B-2, B-1B, C-17, B-52H, C-5, Eurofighter, the new Grippen, PAKFA, and about every modern aircraft you can imagine.

This sounds awesome! Please keep us posted in your progress. I can't wait to see your final product! 3D printing is so hot now. Everybody is talking about it. Your models look awesome!

That's awesome... i guess the island superstructure would be hardest to alter from a Nimitz class but I have full confidence you will do an amazing job. I look forward to seeing pictures of your build progress.
I bet it's. I bet it's very therapeutic as well.

It absolutely is, Kwaig.

I have some work I do for my Church, helping others, and my modeling, and things I do with my kids and grandkids ...and coming here to SD too...that help keep my mind off of the condition I am in.

My condition is terminal. The tumors are growing, albeit they have slowed down a lot over what the drs thought. They expected I would be gone by now.

I tell them it is just because the good Lord has some things He wants me to get done here first...and then it will happen.

anyhow, the nature of the beast is that in order to control the pain as it worsens, I have to take more pretty strong meds. Opiod pain killers. The more you take, the more your body gets used to them and the more you have to take. Also, in order to control the pain.

Getting hooked on them is not a pleasant thing. It does not make you have a "high." You get terribly sick if you do not take them at the level you get used to...and terribly sick if you take too many. it's just the way it is.

But they can help folks like me with the pain.

I do not like getting zoned out, so I take as little as I can stand...and all of these we just talked about...my family, my church, the models, SD, etc., are things help me to concentrate on other things while that is going on.

Anyhow...that's the long and short of it, and the truth about my condition.

I am okay with it.

I have been able to help more people, and my own family in terms of their faith and feeling about God in Heaven as a result of this condition...and if that was all there was, it would be well worth it to me.

Finally...I am okay with it.

I have had a good life and am not afraid of what comes next. I know where I am going and who will be there...and when the time comes, it will be joyous up there...and ultimately, those I know and love will be there too.

Anyhow, thanks for that comment because it is the absolute truth.

Your very very courageous and again prayers for you Mon Ami :)

But one idea for a futur CAW if exist in 1/350 a MQ-25 or use a X-47 o_O

Esthetically the futur CAW with 2 new types F-35C + MQ-25 will to be much more interesting nice than actual with Super Hornets/Growlers ofc almost identicals to Hornet a CAW " less fun " with the futur we will find the diversity of CAW as we have see and enjoy :) up to retirements of A-6, S-3 and F-14.
Well, I have decided on the following, now that I have seen the 3D models of what I can get made:

16 x F-35C
12 x Boeing FA-XX
12 x Grumman FA-XX (6 of those will be configured as EW aircraft)
06 x MQ-25 Stingray
04 x E-2D Advanced Hawkeye
02 x CMV-22 COD

52 very advanced aircraft. A 2030s airwing.

If it's a young tree you could try using a piece of plastic rainwater downpipe or stormwater pipe that's made out of some plastiky stuff. Cut a section out to allow the tree trunk to slip in and then patch up the gap created with the cut piece with sealant glue.

What sort of peach is it?

That's a good idea, I'll keep it in mind!

I'm not sure what cultivar it is, but it's the white-fleshed kind. Here in Ontario, there's basically the yellow-fleshed kind, and the white-fleshed kind.

@kwaig...how about this paint and marking config for the 6th gen aircraft (the one without the canards):

Grumman-FA-XX-001a.jpg

That's the gear door down forward for the front gear.

This aircraft hill have a nice large weapons bay, but I suspect will ultimately also have the pylons for exterior weapons...the kind that get jettisoned once the weapons are launched so it gets back to full stealth if it uses them.

The first waves will be full stealth...and both of these aircraft are also being built with an unmanned version that can be controlled by the manned version like the F-35s will be doing with armed UAVs.

It is hot...and amzing.

This friend who has a really nice one took the dims and drawings I provided to him for one of the 6th gen aircraft and turned out this in 1/350 scale:

001.jpg

I then designed a paint scheme to use when I get them in for the model...and they will look like this:

Grumman-FA-XX-001a.jpg

I also have dims for the entire Ford Island I sent.

Here's what he can do with that.

000-Ford-Island.jpg

It will be expensive...but I figure if I spend the time to do that, I will end up with a much better product than trying to patch together various plastic parts. It will depend on the cost though. In 1/350 scale he may just want too much.

How it will be possible to fly a fighter without the drifts o_O
Exist B-2 but subsonic Bomber and less agile ofc the need is completely different.

Looks like your buddy got himself a nice 3D printer :)
