I think it is pointless to say which media is bias. All medias have their biases, just like human beings who created those medias.

Naturally, the media in China will project an image that suit the current political situation in China. Same too with America. Remember the 80s when Japan basing was the craze? Litterally everything about Japan was criticized, from how they became slaves to their work, romanceless marriages to their dysfunctional politics.

Come on, mass media is a part of geo-politics at work, whether you like it or not

Purported pictures of PLA cultural troupe members visiting Chigua Island.
I don't think they put up a performance on Chigua like what they did on the other islands.

Captain
could it be a Type 903 and a Type 052D??

I think the smaller ship is most likely a Type 054A and not a Type 052D. Reasons include:

1. VLS is only visible fore whereas 052D has VLS both fore and aft.
2. There appears to be slanted missile canisters that were removed from the 052Ds to make room for the aft VLS.
3. The superstructure doesn't appear to have the large angled sides that the 052D APARs are mounted on.
4. No CIWS mounted in front of the bridge superstructure that exists on the 052C/Ds.
5. Two small installations visible on both sides of the vessel, likely to be the side-mounted Type 730 CIWS on 054As.
6. Aft mast has a dome on top instead of the Type 517 Yagi-antenna aboard 052C/Ds. This is likely the Type 364 radar aboard 054As.

The larger ship is probably a Type 904A since it's only slightly longer than the 054A (170m vs 134m). It also makes sense for the 904A to be there since it's an island replenishment vessel. Further reasons include:

1. Raised platform in front of bridge superstructure with a single installation on it. This matches with the position of the 904A's fore gun.
2. There's a lightly coloured area behind the bridge that looks like supply transfer facilities. This matches with the 904A's layout.
3. In the middle of a the lightly coloured area, something is casting a shadow over the shore. This could either be a davit or a crane. Type 903/As have two davits so they would have been casting two shadows while the 904A has a single crane exactly where that shadow is.
4. Single exhaust funnel to the rear of the vessel. This matches with the 904A's funnel.
5. A single installation visible behind the funnel. This matches with the location of the 904A's aft gun.
