Not looking to get too off topic with the J-35A fighter (PLAAF) + FC-31 thread, so posting here.

That's a lot of expensive, high end kit being offered to Pakistan!

If true then China wants Pakistan to go on the offensive next round. No other explanation. Guess they are tired of their attention being tied up in the West when AR is fast approaching.

Pakistan can't go on the offensive against India with weapons it can't afford, so does this mean Beijing is willing to "subsidize" the induction of the J-35, HQ-19, KJ-500, etc. into PAF service?

Beijing and Islamabad maintain a very close and friendly relationship — that some frame as brotherly — but warm feelings aside: these are some very expensive toys and enhanced defense cooperation is usually a two way street.

So if all of these weapons systems are delivered to Pakistan in meaningful numbers in the next 1-3 years, should we expect to see a PLAN base in Gwadar around the same time?

From the perspective of the Pakistani military, how should the acquisition of weapons systems like the J-35, HQ-19 and/or KD-500 be prioritized?

Are there any other Chinese made weapons systems or defense capabilities — within reason — that would be even higher up on Islamabad's wishlist than what's been enumerated?

I guess I didn’t communicate my point properly. I am not saying that Pakistan is going to actively invade India or anything like that. What I meant is that Beijing is giving them the ability to take the fight into India instead of passively defending next time BJP tries to pull off this sort of nonsense. Basically by introducing generational gap in capabilities Pakistan has more options in the escalation ladder. Will it be subsidized by China? I guess it depends on how important Beijing takes the geopolitical situation in South Asia.

"Project Vision" (now under NASTP) which started around 10 years ago, with the goal of integrating various diverse platforms to create one giant situational picture that could exchange data seamlessly. This arm in collaboration with AWC (Air Weapons Complex) designed the Link-17 data link I believe with assistance from AVIC.

Interesting article on the topic, as always take it with a huge grain of salt.

Probably supersonic cruise missiles.

I also think Pakistan lacks a proper conventional ballistic missile line as it focused a lot on the nuclear role specifically but it can probably just use the Shaheen series as a base to build a conventional line (essentially expand the Fatah series). Not sure how advanced the warheads are as there's very little information available online.

I think it's most likely just Hopium and not real. China did call out South Korea on having THAAD and now China is doing it to India? HQ19 is going to change nuclear balance in the region significantly, which is something I doubt China would do.

Yep and you have to keep in mind that this is an existential threat for Pakistan. All our main cities are right across the border so they can target at will and completely shut down our economy (Both in 2019 and 2025, Pakistan's entire air space was closed while India only had to close the air space for specific areas), so Pakistan will definitely do whatever it can to obtain enough capability to deter India from any such kinetic actions in future.

HQ-19 was a rumour started initially by Pravin Sawhney, an Indian defence analyst that had for the past 10 years been warning about growing technological assistance by China to Pakistan. He was essentially proven correct in both engagements in 2019 & 2025.

In a recent video he claimed that Pakistan would get access to J-35s, KJ-500s, and HQ-19. This was then picked up by normal journalists everywhere on news sites, who have nothing to do with defence talks and peddle anything without credibility.

So I really do question just how legitimate that Pakistani government post really is, we don't know who controls the X account and if they even verified anything. Honestly there's a huge question mark on it.

On the contrary, there is also China's CPEC project and the Gwadar port. It could be partially a major factor behind why China may be ready to arm Pakistan at this level, besides deterring India & keep it focused elsewhere.

Jai Hind analysts will argue that this is circumstantial evidence that existing gear performed poorly during conflict hence the need for upgrade.

PS I realized that I’ve been reading so much of their BS that I’m beginning to think like them. Maybe I should use it to my advantage and go into management next.
the Borg will assimilate you into the Jai-hind Collective, resistance is futile

Well we can be sure of the deal to acquire the FC=31/j35's whichever since PAF posted about it themselves,
Maybe the KJ500's are the upgrades to the ZDK-03 instead of fully new KJ500's?
No idea about HQ19.
