hmm, shouldn't we change the title to Eurofighter or Rafale? Eurofighter and typhoon are kind of the same thing, you know.
Maybe be rafale will be better , since France is having good relation with Pak. Also existing Mirage -3/5 can be upgraded .

As for FD-60, it's basically just a copy of Aspide, which has its root in sparrow, so the integration onto a F-16 might not be that difficult.

But US will never give its radar codes to Pakistan !!! Also current F16s of Pakistan have no BVR radars , so Pakistan have to get some from China and Again US will never let China to put her radar on its F16s !!!

Because even Scröder said he would never export weapons to Pakistan and he wanted to lift embargo against China...

Everyone in Europe knows that if Musharaf is gone Pakistan will most likely become an islamic/military regime with anti western orientation, just look at the Pakistani military, almost everyone in there is anti USA and anti west. There is no Person on the horizon to fill Musharaf's gap.

Sorry Crazyinsane105 for drifting.

Have you noticed the full title of the nation is Islamic republic of Pakistan and more then half the nations history has been ruled by the military and it is still is.

If Gen or Pres Musharraf goes will the sky fall down on Pakistan?? I do not think so. there are many more leaders to replace Musharraf, the president is no Bismarck;)

more likely scenerio

Getting back to topic this a more likely scenerio the US would put pressure(covertly) on Europe to not sell because as a Chinese compatriot has stated the closeness of China and Pakistani political, economic and military appartus, by highlighting on this forum the ease of China being allowed to look at Pak planes e.g f-16, certainly i believe technology transfer will happen. Thats my opinion on one reason why Europe maybe reluctant to sell.

Sorry Gollevainen just my point no offensive just people make rediculous assertions from secondary sources

Ger_mark so essentially you're saying that Deutchland decides foreign
policy for the rest of europe...funny you should mention that...i didn't
realise we had lost the war...let's look at it another way...how long do
you think Musharaf is going to survive if the army hates him...at the
moment it's 50%-50% ?

tphuang i agree with you Well Pakistan managed to integrate the Aim-7's without american help so it shouldn't be too much of a problem

Yeah, it was my mistake that the topic was named Eurofighter and Typhoon. Should've been Rafale.:( Anyway, to ArjunMKI, PAF will get quite a few BVR's with the F-16's. I doubt PAF is going to waste it's money on aircraft that don't have its full arnamnents.

The F-16A/B Block 15s radar is fine. It can fire BVR missiles and stuff. But that's late 80s stuff, the MLU will really help the old fleet. Also about Pakistan's need for BVR. Well the AMRAAM is coming with the F-16s, plus the SD-10 will be on the JF-17. So I see no problem.

Is the AMRAAM thing definite ? Because at the moment it looks like pakistan
isn't even going to want the F-16's.

What does the fact that Germany lost the war has to do with the Eurofighter project? Sure Germany does not make Europes foreign policy of its own but so does Britain, they can't simply sale German Know How and Hardware without our Permission :coffee:

Actually Britain can and will. I don't think people in Britain ar going to be too happy with Germany telling them what they can and cannot do EVEN IF Germany opposes the deal and so far you haven't shown a shred of evidence that they will.

They are desperate to sell the Eurofighter to SA especially since America will be supplying F-22's to India and if you're wondering what the Saudi's intend to do with the Eurofighter
please listen to the Saudi's

Prince Khalid bin Sultan comments on Eurofighter Typhoon

Prince Khalid bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz, Assistant Minister of Defense and Aviation for Military Affairs, said that today a following his visit to the King Abdulaziz Air Base in Dhahran, detailed announcement will be made on the Eurofighter Typhoon aircraftan deal with Britain in March.

On the issue of the Peninsula Shield, Prince Khalid said that a proposal had been submitted to King Abdullah. The proposal contained recommendations on the best way to upgrade combat efficiency of the force, increase it numbers, and contain costs. He pointed out that Peninsula Shield troops of different nationalities will be based in their respective countries, attend one or two annual exercises, and probably be led by a joint command.

read different nationalities.....pakistan is going to have great opportunities to test out the Eurofighter...pakistan and gulf forces share a lot of info
