BYD electronics reported about 44B in sales in Q3, less than Luxshare's 73B

At this rate, Luxshare might hit 300B in sales in 2024 -> $45B and BYDE around 175B in sales -> $25B.

BYDE had just $16B in 2022 and Luxshare apparently had under $10B. So BYDE bought out Jabil's China operation. Luxshare also had some M&A, So they are really expanding.

@tphuang What do you think Bloomberg's assessment in robots, machine tools, AI & semiconductors?
I think they are underestimating China's current & future progress in those industries

I mean, it's fine overall. I have the occasional disagreement with this. Being global leader and competitive are also kind of hard to decipher.

For example, AI is such a large field. Which AI?

Robot is also a large field. Are we talking about industrial robot or AI robots?

But I think doing a general look is fine since most people just want to know where China is at.

We don't even waste the energy to try to trip them. The US runs like an angry redneck cursing with 1 hand trying to hold onto a speeding train. We don't trip; we just hit the gas.
Depending on how you look at it. They were so focused on Huawei since 2019 they completed missed Chinese auto industry locking down the entire supply chain between 2020 and 2023, coincidentally during the exact period western automakers experienced work-stopping chip shortage.

Then there's also the lesson on the periodic table every few month that definitely has nothing to do with US unable to ramp up weapons production.

And of course there's TSMC, which China will definitely not blow up and destroy the entire US tech industry. If it ever does you can only blame it on America who openly said they want to.

Guojing Instruments released its self-developed cold-field desktop electron microscope, achieving a breakthrough in domestic cold-field scanning electron microscopes

Guojing Instruments releases the world's first cold-field desktop electron microscope As a high-end instrument, the scanning electron microscope (SEM) is the core instrument for microscopic detection at the nanoscale. It is widely used in high-end research and application fields such as university scientific research and industrial testing.

It plays an extremely important role in supporting and promoting industries such as new materials and new energy that strongly rely on the development of nanoscale technology. Compared with thermal emission and thermal field technologies, cold field electron optical technology has the advantages of high brightness and low chromatic aberration. However, it also usually requires higher vacuum requirements (10^(-9)Pa) and higher extraction voltage (6-8kV), and is currently mastered by a few overseas companies. On the occasion of the first anniversary of the establishment of the company, Guojing Instrument launched its first product, the cold field desktop electron microscope. Its unique cold field emission technology requires a vacuum of only 10^(-7)Pa and an extraction voltage of only 100V, which greatly reduces the working conditions. The DCF-100 released this time is the first cold field electron microscope product in China and the world's first miniaturized cold field electron microscope, marking a zero breakthrough in the field of cold field scanning electron microscopes in China.

This has nothing to do with technology. Please don’t pollute a perfectly good useful information thread.
Sorry, I inadvertently posted these in the wrong thread.

"China publishes world's first international standard for stem cell data"

"The world's first international standard for stem cell data, ISO8472-1, has been officially released, the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences said on Wednesday.

The standard is expected to enhance global stem cell data management and make contributions to the advancement of stem cell research and applications, according to the institute.

As biotechnology advances rapidly worldwide, stem cell data is proliferating. However, the lack of international standards for stem cell data has resulted in issues such as unregulated data management and low efficiency in data sharing and application.

ISO8472-1, co-formulated by experts from China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Germany, the United Kingdom, the U.S., France and other countries, stipulates a framework for the interoperability of stem cell data. It is applicable to related databases, data management systems, web interfaces and more in the field of stem cell research.

The release of ISO8472-1 will provide standard and guidance for data management in the field of stem cells and offer a systematic framework for the development of subsequent international standards for stem cell data, said Qiao Gexia, director of the Institute of Zoology."
