Huawei establishes new company to focus on electric vehicle technology-cnTechPost

Huawei Electric Technology Co. was established on September 8 with a registered capital of 250 million yuan and legal representative Wang Jun, Tianyancha data showed.

The company's business scope includes engineering and technology research and test development, sales of smart in-vehicle equipment, smart in-vehicle equipment manufacturing and sales of smart in-vehicle equipment.

Huawei Electric Technology Co Ltd is 100% owned by Huawei Technologies Co Ltd.

Although Huawei has repeatedly stated that it will not build cars and will only help car companies build them better, Huawei's investment in the automotive industry is still highly watched.

Previously, Huawei Technologies underwent industrial and commercial changes and the company's business scope added the development, production, sales, and service of auto parts and intelligent systems.
Huawei Technologies has also added a number of patents, including "a method and terminal device for automated driving of a motor vehicle," "a method and device for controlling the direction of a smart car," and "a method and device for controlling the direction of a traffic light. Identification methods, systems, computing devices, and smart cars".

At the 2020 China Automotive Forum on August 14, Huawei announced three major Harmony in-vehicle OS systems, and also announced that a large number of partners have been developing based on Harmony OS.

According to Wang Jun, president of Huawei Smart Car Solutions BU, the three Harmony OS are - Harmony cabin OS HOS, smart driving OS AOS and smart car control OS VOS, which are related to the cabin, driving, and control system of the smart car respectively.

Wang Jun said that there are already a large number of partners developing HOS and AOS, and VOS intelligent car control operating system can already support a number of chip suppliers including NXP NXP.
At the Huawei Developer Conference to be held tomorrow, Harmony OS 2.0 is expected to be unveiled, which will allow Harmony OS to be used further from smart screens in PCs, watches/bracelets, and in-car systems.
Huawei easily trouncing Apple when it comes to electric cars.

CDJBY member havok who appearantly works for SMEE said 28nm immersion lithography machine should come out next year.
That's another step towards 7 nm and more efficient 14 nm.

Does anyone know what other things are needed for a fab? I mean the most important eq besides the lithography machine to have a working fab.

I also heard they are having a lot of difficulty in reporting thanks to how they bullied the poor migrants that went home of there towns that at least third of the workers would rather die then to go back to the cities to begin work. They are following Trump quite well, but like Boris Johnson and Scomo, if you want to self destruct your economy in the middle of a pandemic, listen to Pompeo. True they may have temporary set back Huawei but I don’t think it is worth having your economy falling (just look at the USA and there GDP drop for further details). When the USA finally screws up, all these a-holes will
Come crawling back

Well nationalism makes people not think straight. Look at Trump and all those that let him talk with Bob Woodward...

In many ways, China has enabled India's mobile internet industry, with affordable smartphones, numerous apps, mobile telecom equipment and network, and even cost competitive power plants. Yet Indian government would rather cut off its nose to spite China's face. Another evidence of how many Indians would rather to start a war against a militarily far superior rival with certain defeat, in order to show boldness and toughness in the slim of hope of giving the other party "a bloody nose."

A most interesting suggestion for the purpose behind X-37B and its Chinese counterpart: orbital inclination change via aerodynamic lift.

Normally once you launch say a spy satellite into an orbit it's pretty much stuck in that inclination, because inclination change is very costly in terms of delta-V, which means big fuel tanks in your orbiter if you want that capability which means even bigger rockets to launch the now much heavier vehicle.

However it's long been suggested that there are cheaper ways (in terms of delta-V) to achieve this:

The idea is that once you're in LEO and you want to change your inclination, you dip your periapsis into the atmosphere at the place where the plane change is suppose to happen, then once you're there you use aerodynamic lift generated by the shape of your spacecraft to generate "thrust" in normal or anti-normal direction. Then once you're out of atmosphere again you lift the periapsis out of the atmosphere with a prograde burn at apoapsis. So basically instead of using rocket fuel to achieve the plane change you are instead pushing yourself off the atmosphere which is free. The only cost in delta-V is the retrograde burn, prograde burn and making up of difference due to drag while you were dripping into the atmosphere, this could be as little as 5% of what would be required if the entire inclination change were to be done via rocket.

This means such spacecraft is free to roam across a very wide orbital inclination band instead of being more or less locked into a specific inclination. And it would allow say sudden repositioning of a spy satellite to take advantage of transient opportunities.

Well I'm sure every country that does what the US tells them to do will be expecting handouts and subsidies from the US for using their products instead of China's.
