Yeah this guy is some character. Don't let it bother you. We all appreciate your work in informing all of us about science and technology progress in China. Thanks

If you have nothing intelligent to say please refrain from opening your mouth It is very annoying with your snide remark. If you don't like nobody forced you to read

Guys, calm down. Even China's famed "loongson" processors aren't actually made in China, only designed there. He is just pointing out a fact.

Intel CPU are not made in USA as well

Yes they are. They are made around the world, including the USA and China.

The difference here is that China's chips aren't fabricated with their own tech. Intel developed the fabrication technology, Loongson did not. They only designed the chips.

I am not trying to disparage China at all, designing chips is hard enough. But now the next step is to fabricate them on their own soil in their own plants.

The way you guys jumped on pugachev_diver was not fair at all. What he said was true.

Who care where is made ?. If you only make 100,000 of Microprocessor why spend 10 billion dollars to build Factory. doesn't make sense to me. These days there is division between China designer and Chip Fab. Everybody else is contracting the manufacturing of Chip to the the Fab contractor. NVidia for example. Even AMD is now contracting the manufacturing of processor to somebody else.

it is question of economy and not of technical prowess

Chip Fabricator is so common these days Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Korea, All have Chip fabricator . Because they are own by GLC or goverment own state company

But Pugachev was right though .... Chip manufacturing technology is tightly controlled by the USA and Japan ... especially the most advanced one ... i.e 15nm

But Chinese chip design and chip manufacturing technology is far ahead of Russian

Right about what ? Martian's article clearly stated where it was manufactured. It was just a case of being lazy or unable to read.

Even it is manufactured in China, doesn't mean China has the technology, the technology is owned by the USA

China does not need to reinvent the wheel.

GM, proudly, said: "GM sold more cars in China than in the United States in 2010."

Is it good for the United States or China?

By the way, China has US$3 trillions cash on hand that need to be spent for whatever she wants. If you have some goodies for sale, China will buy them. China does not need to make everything for export. She has already shipped more than US$1.5 trillions goods overseas annually. Ahha, China is going to export more this year becuase you boys don't have skills, capacities, and manpowers to make them all.

Chinese should use some of that cash to buy itself some innovation... I hate to say it, but American cars are absolutely terrible, and it's a tragedy that they sell well in China. A guy I knew who drove a Ford actually had his engine explode. Chinese cars are looking better these days, but only incrementally. Build quality still looks off.
