China's Beidou Navigation Satellite System, the BDS-3, can provide up to seven different services to users, a senior official said at a news conference on Wednesday.

BDS-3's constellation network consists of 55 satellites deployed into three different orbital heights, a megaproject that spanned over two decades.

"Since its formal commission in July 2020, BDS-3 has maintained steady operation and top-class service performance," said Chen Gucang, deputy director of the China Satellite Navigation Office.

Aside from standard navigation, positioning and timing service, the system also offers global and regional short message communication, international search-and-rescue, precise point positioning, satellite based augmentation and ground-based augmentation services, Chen said.

Three GEO satellites are deployed with PPP signal broadcasting functions, enabling real-time PPP accuracy within 20 centimeters horizontal and 35 centimeters vertical, he said.

With the expanding coverage of the National BDS-3 Augmentation System, BDS-3 has achieved millimeter-level positioning accuracy with post-processing across the country, he said.

In addition, search and rescue transponders are installed on six Medium Earth Orbit satellites, offering help to international commercial and civilian users, he said.

In terms of global and regional SMS services, Chen said trials for global SMS service are underway, adding that there are plans to roll out smartphones with built-in regional SMS functions by the end of 2021.

China will continue to promote the international development and application of BDS-3, Chen said.

Does anyone else feel like (modern) China is the most "relaxed" of all the Confucian-influenced cultures? The core tenets are still there, but people are much more flexible and easy-going, at least from my impressions.
The Japanese and Korean work cultures are products of their local cultures, not Confucianism.

An unmanned helium-lifted airship equipped with a 5G base station has completed a test flight successfully in southwest China. The airship aims to provide communication services for emergency rescue and disaster relief in the future.

The airship "5G Cloud One" flew 300 meters above ground undertaking a variety of tests in Chuxiong Yi Autonomous Prefecture in Yunnan Province – a region prone to mudslides, landslides, flooding and other natural disasters – with a payload of more than 200 kg and a signal coverage area of up to 100 square km.

It can stay in the air for over 15 days and withstand strong winds.

The airship's innovative 5G technology can effectively make up for the shortcomings of traditional communication methods in emergencies such as slow data transmission and limited coverage, said Chen Guowei, an engineer with the Yunnan branch of China Mobile.

It was developed jointly by the Yunnan branch of China Mobile, Yunnan Innovation Institute of Beihang University and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.

Hmm, rice planting culture, which early Korean and Japanese are, are from pre-Han, south of the Yangtze cultures, like "Wu", "Minnan" and "Yuet" cultures.
Japanese and Korean culture picked up rice planting long after rice planting had dispersed into Chinese culture. In fact Chinese culture picked up rice planting before the Japanese and Korean cultures that are self recognized in their respective places today had formed, at least that we have historical evidence of.

Wu, Minnan, and Yue cultures are also all derivations from later Chinese culture, and didn’t yet exist at the point when rice planting was first moving through the rest of Asia. There is substrata of non Chinese influences in *all* Chinese subcultures, from other cultural groups that assimilated into Chinese culture, but these assimilations seemingly also occurred long after rice planting had already reached early Chinese culture. What we recognize as attribute to be historically contiguous Chinese culture today was planting rice before Chinese culture had expanded into the geographies where Wu, Minan, and Yue subcultures eventually formed.

It is also incorrect to say that Korean and Japanese cultures are a mix of Han, Manchu, and Mongol, since Manchu and Mongol cultures didn’t “exist” in their contemporaneously self identified forms when self identified Korean and Japanese cultures formed, but it would be correct to say that a dominant cultural input into the formation of Korean and Japanese culture that’s self identified today probably came from Bronze Age Northeast Asian cultural complexes, who may or may not have been precursors to the Asian steppe cultures we recognize today. However, in Japan there is also a strong substrata of cultures that preceded population inflows from Bronze Age Northeast Asia, of which we know at least the Ainu descended from, but which was mostly absorbed by whichever (likely Bronze Age Northeast Asian) cultural identity the Yamato people were.
