Would be fun to see how Western industries will look like in 2030 after China has comprehensively upgrades its technological and industrial system.
@Overbom bro I give it a try,

1) BMW, MERCEDES, Toyota , Honda, Tesla, GM and VW will source their EV component mostly in CHina

2) They will export chips of 28nm , 14nm, 12nm, 10nm and 7nm with TSMC producing it mostly in China (focusing its 5nm 3nm and 2nm in TW and FAB 21 in Arizona) and SMIC will be number 2 or co equal.

3) It will export refine oil products as they reduced its carbon footprint as the 25 years deal with Iran kick in.

4) Many western Tech SME will be basing itself in China as they hitch a ride in China leap in 4th Industrial revolution.

5) China will be the first to launch 6G network.

6) A fully autonomous EV driving vehicle.

7) Tesla will be bought by a Chinese.

Will add some more but need to cook dinner for the family (Wife is getting agitated)...LOL

My white friends are always surprised when I tell them about China and it's progress in tech. Most still think of 2000~2010 China making freaking fidget spinners.
Yup pretty much. Whenever I chat in a western-majority discussion forum about the PLA, they always think the PLA is still in the 1980s lol. They say China’s railgun is propaganda despite PLA being secretive about it and also not knowing China has an established industry around EMs.

China is moving too fast for these old fossils to realise what is truly happening.

The railgun thing is the most hilarious one. Isn't the Chinese railgun believed to be further in development than the US' program? Would be interesting to see their reaction if China deploys it first

Probably because it is inconceivable for them to believe that their military is grossly inefficient and there is massive wastage regarding resources. Ofcourse, the trillions that get funneled to their MIC need to show its worth somewhere. Two options remain for them - one, accept that their military isn't all that they believe it to be or Two, come to the realization that the military is a literal mafia that has enough chops to prop up a shadow economy the size of Italy.

Aside from the hesitance to accept other countries outdoing their military in technology, they also believe that a lot of capabilities are hidden as secret projects.
What I wonder is this - if these are going to remain in perpetual secrecy then where exactly is the benefit? Isn't it as good as being nonexistent?

To be honest, even for a Chinese nationalist like myself that watches China constantly.... these things stand out:

1) How the fuck is China at 14nm and soon to be 7nm? I thought China had non-existent semiconductor industry. Like 30 years behind lol.
2) How the FUCK did China skip steam catapults and go directly to EMALS electromagnetic catapults? I thought it would be 50 years before China even begin starting to research it.
3) How did China get stealth jets, railguns, Beidou global GPS, and 5G so quickly? Like 30-50 years earlier than what my US propaganda told me to expect.
4) How the fuck did China's smartphone industry like Xiaomi, Oppo, Huawei, decimate Samsung like virtually overnight? Out of nowhere?
5) How did Chinese missiles like YJ-12 eclipse the Moskit missiles so quickly? They make Russian imports obsolete in just a few years to decade. Chinese engineering is quick.

China amazes me man. The progress is so fast. Most Americans are clueless how capable and intelligent China is. They think China is 1980's or Cold War era. That's GOOD, let them think that way.

China is a quick learner, and they had some help along the way.

No one does everything by themselves.

The brain drain was an important contributor.

Tell them London EV taxis are all made in China. In fact they can be bought privately in China with left hand drive.

I read the U.S. Navy has put their railgun project in the freezer and concentrating on hypersonic weapons instead.
