Huawei deserves the no.1 spot by miles. Apple deserved it in the past but these days cannot make a processor or display that's competitive. Nowadays Apple is simply a shadow of its former self and running on fumes and momentum plus stupids in China who simply must have iOS and the ones who are worse, simply must show the brand. These morons are going to be the end for China.

As long as the engineers and organisational merits of Huawei carry forward into whatever fields they are in - telecomm, computing, software, cars?! Huawei is China's Microsoft/Apple/IBM. Clearly there's still a lot more work to do for Chinese tech to catch up in every field.

Xiaomi sales are a surprise. They don't strike me as particularly leading but shows that the rest of world matters. The product made for the masses (just above poverty basically) is what wins. Not fancy uber exclusive nonsense the real cult of personalities civilisation cultivates. It's a shame so many Chinese youth are so deeply affected by the worship me instagram culture.

I'm not in the least surprised at Xiaomi's performance.

I posted a few years ago that Xiaomi and BBK group would pick up Huawei's overseas sales, and continue where Huawei left off. It was the only logical conclusion given the state of the market.

I've come to realise Instagram culture is toxic.
It promotes an unrealistic view of people's lifestyles, which breeds envy and entitlement. How many people can actually afford to spend more than 5000 USD per month for that sort of life?

And the people making a living from Instagram have to become their own personal brand, which is not a healthy thing. I mean, what actual achievements do they have to show off?

Plus you end up with the following situation which is ridiculous.
US kids want to become Youtube *stars* as a career, whereas Chinese kids want to become astronauts
You can substitute youtube star for Instagram influencer

Nothing is stopping China from creating a processor, OS ecosystem that makes Apple look like garbage.

Nothing.

So, the loyal following for Apple is deserved and earned. I'm appalled at Chinese companies for still relying on Android ecosystem. What is stopping these companies from investing into hardware and software R&D?

And I am not very glad about Xiaomi sales rise. Not with a foreign processor and OS. Never.

China previously faced barriers in obtaining large scale cryogenic manufacture, processing and storage equipments. That is now alleviated.

Fullcryo is a government owned company created in 2017 for this. Good going.

( Note : China is already 'dominant' in small and medium scale cryogenic production equipments)

China's tiktok is popular worldwide and is making lots of money. Are they going to ban douyin in China which is wasting the time of the youngsters making short clips and those watching them?

Will, tiktok has a 30 second limit, which isn't very long. So it's impossible? for someone to actually make a fortune from it.

So I would characterise it as general entertainment. So there many be done curbs on Douyin, but probably not too much.

China's not gonna ban TikTok, it'll be a great vehicle for the DCEP once it's launched anyhow.
