vietnam and indonesia. they will probably build factories there as part of entering those markets.

Japan and South Korea are really behind China in battery technology anyway. By the time they figure out LFP, China's sodium battery will come online.

They are looking to sell 50k in Thailand this year. The BYD margins will be a lot higher. They go into and invest in dealership in a lot of countries with not much competition and not much charging network (by delivering DM-i) vehicles. Their domestic competitors just battle each other in price war.

BYD can sustain this with their local cost and profits in non-China markets. So can Tesla. You can probably say the same about Geely and Chery. Other Chinese automakers simply can't compete with this. This is going to get bloody. BYD is going to grow and keep forcing out smaller players.

BYD should sell more overseas, thereby displacing the Japanese even more rapidly. This can leave more room in the local Chinese market for smaller Chinese makers. In any case the Japanese brands will be displaced worldwide.
