Farley said that Trump's tariff threats have created an atmosphere of "policy uncertainty". A old clip of Elon Musk

why does this matter?

Everyone knows about this interview from years ago and Musk has since walked back on that.

Honestly, what is the purpose of this?

China's auto industry is right now so far ahead of everyone else that Chinese people should not care what foreigners think of it. Why does it matter to you now what some Western said 10+ years ago?

He was right at the time.
The e6 was not a particularly attractive car, it was meant primarily for taxi service. The other cars from that time period were not attractive F3DM, first mass market PHEV, was not a looker
The LFP battery technology was not quite mature, and industry did think NMC was the better option
He was also right that they faced an uphill battle in China against the incumbent SOE groups (much like Tesla itself had to struggle)
