Ok so I saw lake changjin (finally!)
i liked it, some thoughts:
Spoilers below

The film is a good almost 3 hours long which I liked since the films purpose is also to honour the fallen. The key theme throughout the film is that the soldiers are fighting to prevent their kids from having to fight the same war over and over again in the future and we can see that this is definitely the case when it comes to contemporary politics. Foreign enemies wanting to invade, exploit and dominate china either by hook or by crook, the current tech and trade war harkens back to the Korean War and the odium wars with western nations fixated on dominating china and her people. Part of the reason the US was so upset about the CPC victory over the KMT was that treaties signed by the KMT and the USG would have guaranteed free unfettered white Anglo Americans exploitation of china.

Indeed this camaraderie and bond between these band of brothers is a core part of the film, and realistic considering the oft revealed rationale between soldiers in why they fight is because they do it for their own fellow brothers in arms. The depiction of the valour of fallen heroes of the PVA in Korea, such as Yang Gensi and Mao Anying was a touching veneration.

Another key distinction between what white American and western call “blatant Chinese propaganda “ and white American films like American sniper and zero dark thirty and Lone Survivor, is that the Chinese filmmakers are actually quite generous in their portrayal of the American enemy. Americans GIs are humanised in Lake Changjin with some GIs reminiscing about thanksgiving and an American general honouring and saluting the fallen PVA soldiers who perished in the Korean snow still in position and on guard. This humanisation is sadly lacking in American films of a similar genre.

Really looking forward to seeing more films like Lake Changjin and refreshing genres of white Americans as the bad guys for a change.

Bond and captain marvel dont glorify war they are really quite the opposite, always preventing war or at least a greater cascade. And movies like FMJ and Save prvt Ryan are also antiwar, where as this is pro war history revisionist.
Really. China isn’t the one to start the fight in North Korea and please keep in mind that those films you mentioned didn’t remote equal to reality where the USA is still a war no getting nation that bombs the Middle East half to death while China has yet to do the same. The way I see if is that those marvel/war films want to make it seem like as though the west has a conscience in regards to war, well it certainly doesn’t translate to reality. Nothing they show on screen is helping to reduce the western lust for war (in fact by showing how they always seem to win, it seems to glorify it even more by making as though the west cannot be hurt all that much whereas the victims are killed in amass) whereas this Chinese film simply passes on the message that China will fight to protect there home and if they need to fight to the death to save the nation, so be it.
All those western films on anti war does is show how great the disconnect is in reality.

Problem with the chinese is that their will to protect their 'home' extends to Taiwan, Tibet, East Turkestan, Inner Mongolia and Manchuria. Thus depreving said Nations of their sovereignty.

And the depictions that the US always wins is in tune with reality and where it does not, it reflects accordingly, (Vietnam). When did the ccp reflect the tiananmen massacre or the GLF and CR? Let alone what happened in Korea, where neither US nor china but communists(!) started the war.
Taiwan, Inner Mongolia, Manchuria and Tibet are all part of China and nothing you say will ever change that that fact and nothing is ever going to change. All those conflicts that the USA has ever fought are never against those who are equal in strength and anything that the west reports on the tiananmen square are lies and will forever be lies. Maybe you should consider the fact that right now, the USA is the one making all the provocations and probably should be the one to take a few steps back here. If the USA still tries to run these NGOs and try their hand at sedition yet again, make I simply say that should they get caught, may they be put to death in the most violent and horrifying way available because really, anyone that tries such things deserve no quarter. Ask shouldn’t the USA be more worried about their own failing sovereignty, if things get any worse, some states in the USA may consider succeeding from the union, thus achieving what the USA wants to do to China, but in reverse.

Correction, their is no such nation as East Turkestan.
