Apple is a global corporation, and China has way more benefits from Apple than the US, including more wages, GDP boost, supply chain, etc.

China already surpassed the West in terms of high-tech production. All those Western brands you see are made in China + Chinese own brands are rapidly catching up and getting market share all around the world.

Westerns could afford to work those kinds of service-based jobs because they can print money out of thin air, give it to their citizens to spend, and live off of that, they don't need to have real industrial and export-oriented economies like China. They don't need to sweat and work hard for now.

I mean just turn on your common sense, how could the US survive and thrive with all of those trillions of fiscal and trade deficits on yearly basis? Because they are a giant bubble and print money out of thin air to cover all those deficits. China isn't like that, China is a real deal kind of economy.

But there is the question of how that could last, judging from the current situation over there, I would say for a few more years at most. As soon as the rest of the world starts dumping the dollar and euro, their economies would collapse and they would get hyperinflations.

Hong Kongers may have become silent after National security Law but they are still as Anti-China and Self-Hating Western Worshipping as they were before. That's why alot of Hong Kongers are still leaving their cushy jobs and life for a BNO.

Most Hong Kongers of course will continue to live in Hong Kong because of their livelihood or familiarity or relatives. But they still get a foreign passport whenever they get a chance. They keep this as backup. Most Hong Kongers are dual passport holders.

Perception is an opinion but usually Perception is formed by actual situation over time. Stereotypes can be broken but it takes time.

Statistics about Mortality or Infrastructure will not change perception. What people see and do in their daily lives has to change as well. The fact is Hong Kongers, Taiwanese, Japanese or even Europeans have little Chinese presence in their lives. The adverts they see in TV, thats western company, the appliance they use, also western, they top university they aspire to go, also western. The email or OS they use on their phones, also western company. The news they see on TV is from a western Channel like CNN. The movies they are watch are hollywood movies.

All the goods they use might be made in China, but they are still western brands and designed by the west. Thats why Tik tok and Xiaomi had been such a huge change in people's perception on China. People are finally starting to see Chinese branded goods, apps in their daily lives now. This is changing the perception people of China.

But ofcourse China still has a long way to go.

I noticed you didn't dare say the phone brand. But nobody pays attention to the OS of phones nor the email client, they just use the default free ones. People pay a ton of attention to the phone brand, because that's what you're paying for, not the free OS or free email client.

Asia backs Olympic pathway for Russians, Belarusians​

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) is coming under immense pressure from 35 governments to exclude athletes from Russia and its ally Belarus because of the invasion of Ukraine.

The Olympic Council of Asia has already offered to let Russian and Belarusian athletes compete at the Asian Games in China later this year.

An OCA statement said that athletes "should not be punished for the actions of their governments" and "should have access to international competitions (including the Asian Games) without any form of discrimination."

Ukraine has threatened to boycott the Paris Olympics should Russians and Belarusians be allowed to compete.

As I said, perception is always behind facts. Chinese Brands are slowly gaining popularity around the world. Hisense is one of the top TV brands in the US now for example. Chinese are starting to enter people's lives in developed countries. They have penetrated much deeper in poorer countries where Chinese electronics brands are even more prominent.

Chinese cars are starting gain popularity around the world as well. But it will take more time and happen gradually.

Alot of Chinese Apps are now top chart holders in App stores.

So, China is slowly getting there. But it will take more take time for China to equal the west. Plus, Chinese wealth and GDP Per Capita in Nominal terms will also rise at the same time. Chinese Universities will also gain more prominence and someday maybe students from all over the globe will come to study there.

As these things happen, perception will also change. In the future, Hong Kongers will no longer be ashamed to be called Chinese. Taiwanese may also embrace their Chinese identity.

I expect this to happen by 2050, so by then, a peaceful reunification might be possible, backed by Chinese military and Economic might that is several times stronger than today and much less anti-Chinese perception by Taiwanese who will start to see China as a role model.

Intrigued when this CGTN news anchor seemingly implied that 9/11 could also have been an inside job (she compares the Nord stream bombing to it and Hersh is completely surprised). Didn't know this particular view was prominent in the establishment.
