Russia and China has been doing a lot of joint exercises lately. Maybe discussions on the Taiwan scenario where both Russia and China allied together against US would be fun.
I don't think China need Russia in Taiwan scenario (military actions), nor would Russia be willing to get involved since China isn't materialistically involved in Russian effort in Ukraine.
The purpose of this exercise is more on strategic level of mutual support:
For Russia, with the backdrop of Ukraine war, it is to show the US that China is a Russian ally even though China is officially "neutral".
For China, is to tell the US to watch out its ambition both in Asia and Europe, as China can and will make US and NATO's life in the whole world miserable.
This is just a continuation of the back and forth East front / West front game. Previously and still to some extent today it was/is NK and Iran nuclear crisis.
This once again tells us what does "back to back" mean in Sino-Russo relationship.
