If Japan wants to utilize a low yen to their advantage, then they MUST compete with China in terms of manufacturing. Otherwise what good is there to have a garbage currency? Exporting is the ONLY advantage. Good luck competing with China after slumping for 30 years while China has been shooting at the moon like a rocket in manufacturing. When that fails, good luck trying to import food and energy on to your ISLAND country from the global market while paying with your newly engineered toilet paper currency. They are SO COOKED...

On the bright side, they weren’t making these TVs anyway, just using Korean OLED and Chinese LCD panels

They are still going on and on about these silly protests, really the USA might actually split apart between the republicans and democrats is almost a million times more likely then sometime like that happening in China. In all honesty when I see these FLG stands around where I live (which is far smaller the what it used to be like) it’s kinda sad to watch then populated by old folks that look like they are about to drop dead from peak dementia

Japan is not allowed to have an internationally competitive manufacturing industry after their semiconductor industry almost let them overtake the united states in the 1980s, they were forced into an agreement that killed their market share and then had corporate and political stooges implemented in both corporate and politics, that to this day only know how to conduct affairs through the lens of american bootlicking i.e. being a good little holder of american treasuries.

There is not even a wikipedia article on the 1986 us japan semiconductor agreement, despite it being one of the most pivotal events in the global economy in the past 40 odd years.

I will also note that the crony japanese government has long since actually given up on having any sort ofphysical use for the low yen (manufacturing, industry whatnot), rather it serves tourism and foreign investment/speculation which continue to enrich the upper classes. Anything other than this is lip service.

Remember the out of nowhere wild claims being amped in western media about mass rapes of female detainees in Iran and ovaries being cut out to hide the evidence? Sounds familiar? Every accusation is an admission when it comes to certain ‘civilised western’ countries.
Nazi scientists weren't the only thing they imported - philosophy was also important.

I'm shocked! Shocked!! Some members of "the most moral army in the world" are such savages!!

A thief cries "stop thief!" - Anthropic is the company that accuses paid users as "attackers".

This doesn't bode well for the impending war with Iran. Some crew members are deliberately sabotaging the plumbing system.

New naval regulations require a commissar to be present in the stall with you when you poop on navy warships from now on.
