There was a brief, short period of 1980-2000 where a good proportion of the actual best and brightest from China would want to move to the US. Today, there are only 3 types of Chinese that would move to the US: 1) Chinese lacking higher education move because it pays better to work in gig jobs / restaurant work / semi-skilled labor in the US 2) Chinese unable to get into top universities/companies in China or just want to "lay half flat" in a top tier US company (ie Google/Microsoft/Amazon/Meta - where they tend to in general still deliver more impact than significant majority of immigrants from India coming from IIT- nothing against individuals from that nation but its just the way things are) 3) Lazy children of wealthy parents / corrupt officials that don't need to work.
What type are those gig workers delivering Chinese food in Porsches and Mercedes around Toronto?
