fantastic humanitarian assistance to the people who need medical care, especially those in underdeveloped countries.
China should do more, as a "knife to heal" means much more than a "knife to kill", and friendship between peoples is promoted.
Well sometimes it doesn't work. Take my country for example, China donated sh*t tons of testing equipment during a covid wave there years ago when we desperately needed it & also funded the construction of an advanced refinery that actually grew the GDP when for years it wasn't growing. They're also working to revitalise a port to make it a shipping hub. That's barely the only positive thing they did and you know how my people responded? Saying that we're a slave colony of China lol, all because their media is dominated by BBC, WSJ, etc(The local newspapers CTRL-C + CTRL-V's MSM articles).

Like, neither the US or the UK economically contributed to the country in any way. Literally just some marvel movies & a few news articles of a US Navy ship visiting or jazz band playing in the US embassy there is enough for them to jizz their pants and crave more. All style no substance.

Bro patience is a virtue and I'm seeing it happening, an example are cars, last 5 years ago, most of us here hadn't heard of Geely, we thought its a Korean Ice cream brand BUT now like the Converse advert they're everywhere....lol

It may take a generation to change peoples perception BUT it is on the right track, what China must do is to continue its self development ,improved its quality of life and dammed the rest. RESULT is the best way to combat misinformation and most of them are losers anyway, jealous of other people success so it's just a waste of time to change their way of thinking.

Looks like the only way to fundamentally change this situation in many countries is by "decolonization" through top-to-bottom purgings of all pro-West political and financial elites, and replace them with pro-China ones - Alongside infiltrating and solifldifying the presence of Chinese influences across all levels of political, econonic and societal fabrics of the people's everyday lives in these countries.

Otherwise, I don't see how thing would massively improve for China, when the West already has decades-worth of head-starts in the "hearts-and-minds" domain in these countries.

The Rule Of The Jungle still very much alive today, as it was thousands of years ago.

That is why they should continue attacking the dollar, you can remove all the predators in the jungle, but if the jungle just regrows the predators will return from their hiding. Or you can just slowly but surely destroy or push back the jungle from your border.

I don’t know about that! I think that, if China would focus more on soft-power -as some, here, have suggested, and would study the methodologies of Imperial/Colonial information management/influence peddling, they could use multi-media “capitalism” to affect attitudinal modifications rather quickly. Just look at how successful South Korea has been in the entertainment domain!

it is only when you have sufficient hard power to deter violence and coercion that competing in soft power becomes meaningful.

yes, sometimes good deeds may not be appreciated.
but it doesn't mean China should stop trying.
China is big and rich enough to continue to offer such medical care to people in need. Goodwill and kind actions eventually trump deliberate disinformation.
