That's a good question for China. In my opinion, the best way to avoid a weak future generation is for China to remain humble even when things are going very well. Keep developing, even when it is no.1.
I think the CPC dodged an early bullet when they elected Xi Jinping as the President. Towards the end of the Hu Jintao era, the mainland Chinese society was slowly succumbing to materialism and consumerism. Plus there was growing arrogance amongst the more affluent mainland Chinese people. People were worshipping money, status, and lifestyle. If left unchecked, the urban mainland Chinese society could have ended up like HK, TW, and South Korea. Xi Jinping stopped that crap and brought China's soul back. Xi's first term was housecleaning. Cleaning out rampant corruption, criminals, and negative materialistic cultures. His second term was rebalancing the economy and returning China back to its cultural roots. Socialism is back in again, and there is that Chinese Dream. Now his 3rd term is about Common Prosperity. These are positive developments. It avoids the traps of rich-worshipping and consumerism that plagues the democracies around the world.
So when China finally attains the no.1 economy spot, and when Common Prosperity is a full reality, it has to learn from the mistakes of the West. Absolutely no Francis Fukuyama 'End of History' bullshit. That creates the illusion of exceptionalism, and that produces weak and entitled people. China should continue calling itself a 'developing country' and continue developing. Never let the billionaires and bankers take control of the country. Continue human progress. Don't allow the banksters to tell us that these things are not "economically viable". There is always a new national mission to take on. Develop new technologies, space exploration, or human development. There is always some work to do. Don't care about how far behind the West or others are. Just do it, and keep progressing. All of these things, I'm confident that the CPC is capable of doing, as long as the party continues reforming and promote capable leaders.
