Foxconn saw what happened to Winstron. It's the predatory game that India is playing to steal businesses and factories from foreign firms.
Foxconn exits US$20 billion Indian semiconductor joint venture, slowing country’s global chip hub march
"You can't spell Foxconn without C-O-N"
It game works like this:
1) Foreign company JV's with an Indian company. Gets some initial incentives from the Indian government.
2) The JV Indian company, or Indian vendors, or both, screws with the foreign company.
3) Then the Indian government screws the foreign company with fines or taking the side of the Indian companies in any disputes.
4) Foreign company wants out of India. Puts its assets up for sale.
5) Indian tycoon buys up foreign company assets at great discounts. Adani gets into the cement business by buying up the assets of a departing Holcim. Tata becomes the first Indian company to assemble iPhones for Apple by buying assets from the departing Winstron.
So this the Indian masterplan to acquire whole new industries for its elites. Sooner or later, foreign investors are gonna find out and avoid India like the plague. Those businesses that those Indian tycoons acquired, it's gonna stagnate too because they bought those businesses, not built them.
I predict that Apple's adventure to manufacture in India is not gonna have a happy ending.
