This resulted in the massacre of Singaporean Chinese (Sook China massacre) when the Japanese invaders landed in Singapore.
We were also instrumental in forging diplomatic ties between China and Asean.
Singapore is one of the top foreign investors in China, and the top for many years.
In the 60s to 80s, many Singaporeans were sending money and carrying TVs and etc to their hometowns in China.
The well off set up schools and universities in China.
Tan Kah Kee and Xiamen(Fujian) University comes to mind.
Most probably you do not have relatives in Singapore, but most Singaporean Chinese have relatives in China.

But your "you can't blame China or Chinese who has nothing to do with you" is too harsh, haha.
I would say Singapore Chinese have a special relationship with China.
I think further discourse on this topic is pointless other than ruining friendship.

Sadly, past China was too poor and ass backwards to defend Ethnic Chinese abroad. Now as China evolves a blue water navy, Maybe that will change and China can follow the ethno-oriented alliance structure of AUKUS whose sole reason for existence is protecting a white ethnostate in Asia from conquest by yellow people. China should do the same with Singapore vis-a-via Islamic Bumiputra supremacy/irredenticism.

it's so shameless for Singapore to claim credit on these. Singapore persecuted those who helped China, confiscated their properties and passports, shut down their schools, drived them out of Singapore.
in the future sea battle, if the US navy uses Singapore as a base, I support China drop a neutron bomb over the damn place. Singaporean and taiwanese are of the same breed, they are from the same damn place.
This pmc is weird. Last time we had an exchange about the development level of semiconductor industry in Europe. The discussion was run into the ground by him when he started to make some strange arguments, like Europe and Russia have very deep semiconductor technologies due to CERN (Russia because he said a lot of Russians and East Europeans are working there). I was at a loss what to make of him and his arguments.
His latest arguments about China can't compete with the US/West because China "can't even control Asia" or something of that nature is again, weird. I could give him a thorough education on why China has attracted all sorts of investments, R&D labs and people in the world, and best of all, the largest talent pool in the world, the well-educated Chinese themselves. Judging from his track records and understanding of such matters, it's mostly going to be a waste of time.
I will not raise new points so as not to prolong discussion on this matter.
Just a note that if you raise such a serious accusation about Singapore persecuting those who helped China,
PLEASE SUPPORT YOUR CONTENTION/ACCUSATION with facts.
From what I know, I am 67 years old, only those who do not forgo violence are prosecuted or detained under our Internal Security Act.
They are released the moment they do that.
I wouldn't say our gov is always fair, but I realized later in life, they are better than most.
And we don't support communism.
