Guys, but i still think that despite her being not guilty, the admission of facts by her will most definitely used against Huawei in the near future. Even the DOJ openly admits so, saying they will now use the information to prepare for their case against Huawei.

Although the fact is that her admission statement was made under duress, but for the kangaroo court that is the US and by extension the EU/western countries, this is a good enough "evidence" to rule against Huawei or even result in a ban.

This is very potentially a huge pain in the ass in the future. IDK if the Chinese officials had considered this when they made the deal and what will be their counter?? This is a major reason for worry although Meng's release is a very good news on the surface.

And also, is this a net positive or negative for Chinese PR?

I feel very mixed and uncertain about this tbh. Plus, since Meng is likely to win due to the obvious bogus charges against her, i might sound heartless, but isnt another 5 years of arbitral imprisonment a small price to pay in view of the massive stakes for China?

Yeah I have the same question. How much will her agreement affect Huawei staff and company overseas.

They are going after Huawei no matter what happens. So what.

So much winning at this point, for the USA to give her up like this, no matter how the USA plans to play this, by releasing her like this, will only serve to weaken the image of the USA even more than it is already given how now if she was guilty, they would’ve kept her and presented proper evidence and not try to prevent hurt from defending herself multiple times. By not doing this and simply letting her go is only going to ensure that the USA’s image as a cowardly chicken is going to stick. Who is going to want to listen to the USA in any matter if they fold like this, no super power should ever fold in this fashion. Now Huawei’s business will
simply increase around the world as a company that has outlasted all attempts by the USA to kidnap their CEOs daughter, which is unheard of since every time the USA has done this, no one could stop them or they can easily play this to their advantage and basically laugh in the face of the oppressed. This is an outright lost, even if China send those two Canadians back since really Canada and the USA started this fight and pretty much folded first. Could this be the sign of things to come, China has still got a lot of winning to do, their is still 3 months of owning to do and heck maybe Huawei will experience a bit more pressure but eventually when China gets their chip industry up to speed, they will go straight back to owning the USA via pricing them out of the market. Let it be known that China will not be anyone’s bitch especially not to nations that pretend to be champions of human rights but basically commits war crimes every day.

Guys, remember that Meng being returned home is simply a move towards normalcy by Biden and the USG; there are still many many other items on China’s list which the anglos must fulfil for China to seriously consider working with and making concessions for them.

Re-designating ETIM as a terrorise group is the other move the US must make to get relations back on track.

I'm pretty sure the US got nothing but had to say something just to look like they didn't get left with nothing.

"I wouldn't worry about anything Meng "admitted" at all. Meng and her father are some of the smartest toughest people in the world; they know what they can and cannot say. American politicians, on the other hand, are professional spin doctors who can make every defeat look like a victory. "We went in, taught the Afghans a good lesson, and we're going home mission accomplished!" LOL This guys job is to save face for the US and making it look like Meng admitted to some amorphous non-criminal wrongdoing that "might" "potentially" be used against Huawei is the best garbage he could pull out of his ass when put on the spot."
