Yes they're not going to show those images out of China in the West because they want to believe the Chinese people are on the side of the West. At least make it look like a nonevent in China. Those that hold all the power in the West want their own people ignorant so they continue on believing the Chinese people support what they do so keep on with their policies when all they're doing is stoking simmering antagonism towards them.

I guess I can understand him coming from Japan with their colorless, bland and boring without strong emotional attachment to country or people. It must impressed him greatly that people on their own volition come to the airport to show their support for country and people and get emotional. Yes I feel sorry for the Japanese not the master of their own country

The other way around. This and Meng's release are all parts of a broader "deal" to cool down temperatures and get something done between the two. And this state of affairs should at least last until after the mid-term election next year.

This whole episode just proved that Canada does not have an independent judiciary from either US government or Canadian government. This is despite justin insisting on Canada's judicial independence.

The joke is now on justin and he does not understand Canada's judicial dependency on US politics.

Meng was released immediately after a local Brooklyn court hearing.

Whatever it is, if Biden intends for this to be a gesture of good faith between US and China to actually do some real negotiations than well fine, good on him. I fear though this won't last because for that to work he will have to rein in the hawks around him so they don't go off and do some new sanction again China and ruin the progress, and I have little confidence in Biden's ability to do that.

Which QUAD meeting are you talking about? The one in Washington? Or the one in Tokyo October last year?
