Indeed the same loss and hurt apply to the victims and their loved ones regardless of whether it was a deliberate, regardless of the intent, or an unintentional act when none of the victims are personally targeted. Condolences to those who died and hope the injured recover quickly and smoothly.
I have been dilatory in keeping up with developments in Syria but saw last week that this militia invaded from Jordan and with US boot on the ground. This can become very serious. Russian Whitehousologists will be looking to find out what intentioned by invasion.

You have your causation backwards, but I get the gist of your message. Nonetheless, culture is extremely important to people everywhere, and it's reasonable for them to hang on to it. You don't agree, and that's fine, but at least try and understand millions of Southerners feel strongly about their own culture and they want to keep and celebrate it like other groups of people everywhere.

I'm with you on hoping it's a horrible accident and not terrorism, but I have a nagging suspicion it is Islamist terrorism.

Stupid culture that celebrates human slavery isn't worth holding onto. It's only popular films like "Gone With the Wind" and such that glamorizes the Confederate South culture while ignoring the African Americans indignity and they use that God excuse religious institution to justify for it.
