Usually politicians in the west would only speak their true thought after they left the office. I'd like to quote what Olmert concluded.

The strategic damage to Israel caused by the delay in completing the construction of the Tel Aviv Light Rail is immeasurably greater than the strategic danger of involving Chinese companies in this huge project.

Israel has its own interest that is far more important than American concerns unjustified in Israel's eyes.

At the end of the day, the US will reach a trade agreement with China that suits its interests, and I’m not at all sure that the economic benefits for Israel that are expected to result from such an agreement will be first and foremost in the minds of the Americans.

US is not going to put Israel's interest in the front. Australia was a great example. A well-done by China.

I am convinced that I know what punishment the Chinese will bestow upon us if we join the excessive demand to exclude China from beneficial involvement in the Israeli economy.

We see examples.

Everybody in the position like Olmert know that "Overall economy strength will translate to supremacy regardless the cooperation being civilian or military". The American's goad is to undermine the Chinese economy strength by all means. "Military, strategic concerns" are just cover story. The Israelis is willing to live in a world where China is the number one. They may feel sorry for US to be number two, but Israel's existence is above anything. Olmert's message is clear, Israel should prepare for the eventual jumping of ship for Israel's survival.

This matter is not unique to Israel, it is a question that every politician in every country has to answer, the sooner the better.

I think although the "Five Eyes" is a convenient catch word, it is a bit misleading to the reality. Among them, New Zealand was far from devoted, its altitude is closer to South Korea, they are both laying the foundation of jumping ship already. Britain is more vocal than deed, after all it has very long history of political experience. The real "die hard" loyalists are Australia, Canada and Japan.
And to put into the focus, many of us might somehow think the needs of the US containment on China's advancement just happened in the last few years since Trump era, but actually such thought had arisen nearly a decade ago, and across the board, both Left and Right!

George W. Bush first term was 2001–2005!

"Years ago, at a small conference I attended with opinion leaders, statesmen and heads of large American and foreign economic corporations, I heard a discussion on US-China relations. The speakers, including the most senior senators, officials in the US administration (at the time, it was George W. Bush’s first term), and the most senior American journalists, spoke about the need to curtail China, using terminology that was reminiscent of the PANIC former prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu used to talk about when dealing with the Iran issue.

This article by the ex-Israeli PM gives some new confirmation for me, as well as additional hint on the source of the pandemic when one is seeing the whole thing in a very big picture!!

Many years ago, perhaps as far as a decade ago, occasionally the thought like this popped up into my mind: "What may happen one day if the US as the dominant power feels threatened by China's rise? What actions will the USA take in that situation?"

Now I know, of course the stories are still evolving... incl. the virus question! We are all the unwilling witnesses of the world's great history under making...

This further proves that the US was going to take action against China in the early 2000s.

China was literally gifted with almost 20 years of free time to develop. Ironically, Iraq and Afghanistan saved China.

Can you imagine if this technology embargo had started in 2000? That would be a disaster for China. Now however, that it has developed so much, it can withstand the US assault

Yes, exactly

(1846-1914) Wall Street wars

(1945-1991) Adolf 2.0 war against communism. Adolf 1.0 lost the war but America continued Adolf's war against communism

(1991-2021) Ziocon wars

Why oh why? Of all days you need to say thank you to the Japanese. The English Vegetable choose the day of Chinese the world over to commemorate victory against the imperialist Japanese?

So instead of honouring the day like any decent Chinese leader like Carrie Lam for the ending of Japanese occupation. The English Vegetable decided it's more appropriate to tweet her undying loyalty to remain a Japanese colonial subject. Absolutely shameless.

This sums her loyalty.

Not only that, she also tweeted her hearts goes out to the Americans in the hurricane. Where was her message of condolences with the recent flooding in China? There's something terrible about her mindset.

Oh I certainly don't think there's anything wrong with going to the US for a better job.

What I do find pathetic, however, is staying in Mexico when you're visa is refused, while your resources dwindle, and your mother-in-law freaking dies because you can't give her money to continue treatment, all the while pleading with the US to let you back in instead of, you know, going back to China.

You know, now that I write this out, I'm thinking nobody sane would be staying in Mexico when they can return to China. He can just as easily wait for his visa application in China. So I'm going to guess that for whatever reason, he is incapable of returning to China. Maybe he's involved with the FLG? Who knows.

I may be a simple man, but this guy is either a liar, or the worst kind of wretch.

If his claim of China wanting him back isn’t just some pathetic lie to play hard to get for the Americans, then he is basically scum.

Because that means that when China came to him in his hour of need to offer him a lifeline and way out, not only did he express zero gratitude, he gives off distinct hostile and resentful vibes, like how he somehow thinks its all a giant Chinese government ploy to get him back and that the Americans are giving him fascist racist discrimination because of express orders from Beijing.

And I think that goes to the heart of the matter.

While cronyism and favouritism no doubt exists in China, as it does anywhere, what is far more important in explaining his lack of promotion in China is his self evident lack of any respectable moral fibre.

Sure, cronyism might have given maybe a certain rival an advantage, but being an ungrateful, narcissistic, entitled, white-worshiping self-hating racist mega-Karen, who almost certainly actively spread QAnon-level NED/CIA/FLG anti-China propaganda would have guaranteed that he was the last person to get a promotion. Hell, if he was the only one to apply for a job, I would cancel the fucking post before I give the promotion to him.

That’s probably why he would rather have his mother in law die and his whole immediate family suffer rather than go back to China, and that’s perfect fine by me. The only thing that could make this story better for me is if he had to literally sell his ass at the local whorehouse to survive. And even that’s better than what he deserved.

I dont know why you guys keep bothering with Taiwan politics. Current Taiwanese Gov is a US puppet. Why would you expect a US puppet to take into account China's feelings?

Traitors are traitors, no need to bother with them. Eventually they will get what they deserve
