Peace and Good relations start with mutual respect, Mr. Trump is able to be respectful and personable.QUOTE]

Since when?o_O Here is a guy talks crap about Mexicans, women, and anyone who is against him in such a disrespectful way that his fanbois refuse to see the truth about this misogynist racist that so happens to appeal to the good ole boy voters in their last ditch effort to "regain" the country to make it the way it were?;)

Trump is a big question mark. Maybe he was smart enough to know what to sell to get him elected but then have enough sense when actually being President.

I was talking to friends that said they were with friends who were crying when Hillary lost. Sorry if you're going to cry, you have no idea what the real world is like and you're living in a romanticized fiction. I was watching one of the morning TV shows and one of the hosts said she suddenly realized half of the country didn't think like her. Yeah and that's why the most of the those in shock are a part of the society that gets all the things they see as important addressed to. White liberals are clueless on what others want. Ever see Gangs of New York? There was a scene where the Irish gangs were literally dragging Chinese from their homes and forcing them to vote the way they wanted in elections. It's not your vote. It's theirs and they make sure you understand that. Today's parties have that same mentality. Minorities already know and have long experienced disappointment from people that say they're on their side and they don't follow through. Trump winning is not a shock. The Hillary Kool-Aid drinkers were totally blind. I didn't come across one Hillary supporter that tried to convince me how Hillary would be better for my interests. They dictated to me what my interests were and used intimidation tactics to try to get me to support Hillary. They would accuse me of not supporting Hillary because I was a sexist. Was it because of racial stereotypes? I'm sure that was a factor on why they so easily make those conclusions. Of course they ignore how Hillary gives Saudi Arabia a pass on violating women's rights, which some say are the worst, and says not a word of criticism. Maybe because of their donations to the Clinton Foundation? All it says is women's rights are just a front for Hillary and her supporters. What makes her and Kaine any different from Trump when they used racial stereotypes during the campaign using how Hillary stood up against Chinese on sexism at the UN conference on women when she was first lady? Yeah Trump's a racist because he uses ugly stereotypes against Mexicans but they were okay with it when Trump was a Democrat and did the same railing against Asians when he first emerge as a celebrity in the 80s. Maybe they should've shut him down then and he might not be President now. Trump winning is not a shock. It's the same as usual to someone like me. It's only surprising to those that are clueless on how the world works believing they know and speak for everyone else. All dictators think they know what's best for everyone else.

BTW, for the black and white thinkers out there... I didn't vote for Trump either.

I did not like Trump at first , but changed my mind just after the third debate when he came across as rather presidential when he gave a speech at a function where both he and Hilary were guests. I was quite surprised when he walked passed Hilary and gave her an encouriging shoulder clasp as he walked past.
I also think Trump who can be a bit of a bully, is " one out of the box". As I don't think anyone of the others that competed against him in the primaries would have stood a chance because of the dirty way the Democrats fight elections.
Remember Harry Reid the senator from Nevada who lied about Mitt Romney not paying taxes for 10yrs during the 2012 elections? He actually made it up, and just shrugged his shoulders when confronted about it while making the remark "well it worked did'nt?"

Some links that might show that genuine Great Power Relationship between China and the US is possible now under Trump:

People should see the world as it is, and not as they wish it is. President-elect's security advisor is one KT McFarland, a well know China hawk. She's busy going around town giving interviews on Trump's foreign policy, and her standard fare could be seen at the 2:12 mark of the enclosed video.

My expectation of President Trump is doubling down of efforts to encircle China, and all the consequences that will likely generate. Hope I'm wrong.

Encircling China would require him to double down on all those foreign alliances that he is so much against.

The 10-minute phone call between Trump and Park occurred a day after the Republican nominee's victory made headlines and took the world by surprise.

.

The conversations between Trump and Park focused on themes that emphasized continuity of current U.S. North Korea policy: strengthening the U.S.-South Korea alliance and close cooperation in response to North Korea's nuclear and missile threats, Yonhap reported.

According to the presidential Blue House, Park said the "strong U.S.-South Korea alliance is the cornerstone of robust U.S. leadership in the Asia-Pacific region," adding the alliance should be developed in the mutual interest of both countries.

Trump had previously criticized South Korea, as well as Japan, for their dependence on U.S. forces for defense against North Korea's military threats.

Trump had said both countries "don't pay us," although burden sharing has prevailed in Seoul and Tokyo.

The president-elect appeared to take a different approach to relations with Seoul, and said to Park, "We are with you all the way and we will not waver," according to Yonhap.

Trump also said that he fully agreed with the president, adding he thinks North Korea is very unstable, according to the Blue House.

Yeah, you need to give it a couple years to see some initial results, and at least another 10 to begin to fully appreciate the impact. Our appreciation of Obama's pivot isn't even close to being complete yet, so don't be too impatient, young grasshopper.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned yet in this thread is the idea of some Californians for Cal to secede from US. I saw comment in the Dutch press. California has everything in industry, Silicon valley, agriculture, but also a huge debt and drought. The first Civil War ended a century and a half ago so lets try again?
