The US just moved the goalpost wayyy downfield because they were losing and you naively moved along with it. Sounds like something an easily-manipulated banned former member voyager1 would do. The US now has such a bad hand that it just wants to talk. It used to declare that it would beat China in a trade war and now it considers it a victory just to have an hour of chat time, hard-earned as it had to request several times to multiple rejections. China kept moving things farther and farther out of American reach that what would have been a given before now needs to be painted as a major victory to assuage the American public. At the start of the trade war, China declared, "Negotiation, we are open, surrender, never!" Now the US wants negotiation and China has made it, "Negotiation? Hmmmm... We'll think about it if you ask really really nicely." And those who cannot see this big picture say that China folded. LOLChina folded
So the No2 of the US State department will meet the Foreign minister Wang Yi. China clearly folded on this as previously they proposed her to meet with the Chinese Vice minister of foreign affairs.
Loss for China as it is now confirming that the Foreign Minister is just a "junior". Expect more countries to demand the same treatment in the future. Dissapointing
I wouldn't call it respect. Just because you don't go kicking sick animals on the street doesn't mean you repect them.China respects India. Now if India is also respecting China is another story, see the Indian ambush to the Chinese soldiers last year
Lol that's what I suspected who @Kaine actually is (Voyager). No offense to you @Kaine but your writing style and your tendency to wax and wane depending on the topic at hand is eerily reminiscent of the previous member who unfortunately got banned. The US just moved the goalpost back because they were losing and you naively moved along with it. Sounds like something an easily manipulated banned former member voyager1 would do. The US now has such a bad hand that it just wants to talk. China kept moving things farther and farther out of American reach that what would have been a given before now needs to be painted as a major victory to assuage the American public. And those who cannot see this simple play say that China folded. LOL

I imagine China's history makes the government careful about underestimating other countries. The West messed up assuming China would never advance beyond a certain point and now that it's baked in to our culture while the PRC advances without us.China respects India. @Bellum_Romanum yeah bro I noticed it to, I kind of miss him though his quirks and all
Thanks for the link to a very well written and in my opinion balanced article on China.
I highly doubt it is just happening without any good reason. I am sure Americans offered to discuss or offer something to cause a sudden change of mind. For example, Austin got the same treatment and he didn't get what he wanted.China folded
