Japanese nuclearization is not an existential issue for China. In fact, this can only help China in the long term: 1) it will make Japan more independent of the US, which increases the chance it becomes a neutral party, 2) it will make it easy to justify accelerating China's own nuclear build up, as the West now has lost its strongest argument against China's nuclear build-up, 3) it'll open the box to sharing nuclear weapons with US opponents.

Obviously, China should still flip a table over it and use it as leverage to 1) punish Japan where it benefits China, 2) excuse its own nuclear build-up above parity with the US, 3) proliferate nuclear weapons to US opponents like Iran and Cuba. Let the US panic & sweat over the proliferation of nuclear weapons around the world, as this can only make it harder for a global imperial power to exert its will via military means, which is what the US does, but not what China does.

The only exception here is if nuclear weapons somehow make it into the hands of Taiwan. THAT does require a military response.

A nuclear Japan is absolutely an existential threat to China because a nuclear armed Japan gives a future Trump enough plausible deniability to think they can get away with first striking China using Japan to establish a fire break against China glassing CONUS in return.

America might not want to eat nukes themselves in return to wipe out Beijing and/or Shanghai etc, but they will gladly trade all of Japan getting carpet nuked to deal such a heavy blow to China.

China tightens export control of dual-use items to Japan, with immediate effect: MOFCOM
China announced on Tuesday the decision to strengthen export controls on dual-use items destined for Japan, in accordance with the relevant provisions of laws and regulations including the Export Control Law of China. The announcement takes immediate effect. The decision was made in order to safeguard national security and interests and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation, said China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) on Tuesday.

Specifically, under the decision, all dual-use items are prohibited from being exported to Japan for military end users, military purposes, or any other end users or uses that contribute in any way to enhancing Japan’s military capabilities, per the MOFCOM.

Any organization or individual in any country or region that violates the above provisions by transferring or providing relevant dual-use items of Chinese origin to organizations or individuals in Japan will be held legally liable in accordance with the law, said the MOFCOM.

Frankly, this will accelerate Japan and the West in establishing their rare earth industries, but in the short to medium term, it remains an attack.

This is no longer just about rare earths; it's about the Ministry of Commerce determining that exports are related to or "benefit the JSDF," even basic chemicals like two bases and three acids (H₂SO₄, HCl, HNO₃, NaOH, Na₂CO₃), white sugar, potassium permanganate, etc., could be banned from export.

Almost all industrial products you can think of are on that list. Moreover, this regulation is a long-arm jurisdiction, applicable not only domestically but to any country.

It’s time for Japan to demonstrate its true military potential. According to cucks the every billboard in Japan is made from aviation grade material so they can turn into airplane wings and every utility pole can be tuned into cannon barrels. Time to see if that’s true!

It's not just rare earths, but everything else.

Why operate factories in Japan, if they can't obtain low-cost inputs from China?

So the export controls are going to accelerate the overall de-industrialisation of Japan, in the short, medium and long-term.
