Damn, I don't think anyone would blame Assange for choosing to keep his head down and live the quiet life after what he's been through, but clearly that ain't where he's going.
This is probably as good a time as any to plug Suelette Dreyfus' 1997 book
. It chronicles the adventures of a collection of mostly Australian computer hackers and phreakers in the 1980s and early 1990s, including one Julian Assange. I first read it around the turn of the millenium, well before Assange entered the broader public consciousness, and it was subsequently something of a revelation to realise, some years later, that
this guy was also
that guy. In any case it's an entertaining read, for those with suitably esoteric interests.
