I think it's quite obvious what's motivating Indians. Look at the general news coming out of China compared to India. From China's regional development to technological advancements, this is simply desperation and the India government has to show superficially they can stand up to China.

I've said before that all governments from democracies to dictatorships have to show its citizens the reason why they should be in power in order to prevent the citizens from turning against them. China's regional development exposes the insignificance of India's power. If they could do it, they would've beaten China and prevent this from happening and to make sure they were good terms with neighbors. Just look at the Nepal earthquake disaster. Both India and China competing symbolically there in aid assistance. The shelters India setup were crap and it was reported India shipped expired and spoiled food to feed disaster victims. And some articles are suggesting that India's actions are really about using it as a negotiating tool to prevent China's regional development projects in other certain sensitive areas.

In this new world, courtesy of China, countries that are followers are in for a world of hurt in the future... and all those countries hate China. China is busting myths on how things are suppose to work. Notice there's hardly talk about how political freedom equates to innovation? These are the things brainwashed into people to not advance people but the opposite. Before the J-20 was unveiled, countries like Japan and South Korea would look down at China for not having a stealth fighter because they believed in all that nonsense of who can and cannot do what. They didn't have a stealth fighter but they thought it was enough just being allied with a country with stealth fighters. Now with the J-20 out, it's just embarrassing to believe what they thought before hence why they had to put money into a symbolic stealth fighter program even though they're still going to buy American. And they charge the J-20 is only a prestige project...? Even Europeans have to ask permission from the US if they can sell things to other countries. Without being able to sell, money is limited on advancing technology. Even within the US, the government looks to restricting investments into startups thus limiting the ability to flourish. You're only as good as your leader will allow you to be.

Riding on someone else's coattails makes one live in exaggerated confidence. That makes one unrealistic and not focused on what really are the problems that need to be addressed.

we all know that when China has its hands free

china has its hands free. Why do you say otherwise? Do you think that the US/japan/SK are about to strike NK or what? there isnt absolutly any evidence of that. Nowadays the US administration has realize that they need china to denuclearize NK. Everyone knows that there is no viable military option in the korean peninsula.

IMO, this is just an excuse to justify china´s inaction in the sikkim standoff.

China's regional development exposes the insignificance of India's power.

india´s power is not insignificant. Its not at china´s level, but its not insignificant and is growing fast.

Have you been living in a cave for the last 6 months?? YES, the US and SK might strike NK. There is so much evidence, including in the mobilization of military assets, posturing and rhetoric that I don't even know where to begin citing it. "Strategic patience is over" is probably a term that you should search. I don't know how your instincts are wired but for me, when someone says that his patience with me is up and starts calling his boys and going into his trunk for his baseball bat and machete, I know I need to be ready to fight. Saying there's no evidence that there are rising tensions that might escalate to violence on the Korean peninsula is probably the most ignorant and stupid thing I've heard a non-Janiz, non-Sadblue person say on this forum. Is it your policy to enter every debate with no background information?

India's power is not insignificant ranked among the 200+ countries in the world, but it is much lesser than China's and growing much slower than China's, so in relation, it's actually smaller and shrinking. If China were to strike India militarily to remove it from the disputed region, India would have no response. If it escalates, it loses. If it goes nuclear, it disappears as a country. It can only back off and lodge a complaint with the UN. Right now, China has such a military advantage over India, it can literally afford to sit there and see where the Indians think they're going with this and rein them in at China's convenience.

Why would you think that China needs an excuse for not immediately violently beating India's ass? It's scared because India's so powerful? LOL

Given all this, though, I don't want people to think that I'd saying that war in Korea is imminent or even likely. I think it's all a big bluff by the US and nothing will happen but the only reason that nothing will happen is that China has shown impregnable readiness and the US cannot find any advantages to gain or lapses to exploit with military action on North Korea.

If China takes the India bait now, a lapse will be created and catastrophe can ensue.

If war breaks out between the two officially, China needs a lot bigger navy at Indian ocean if Indian Navy going after China merchant ships.
Need alot more SSN and at least one carrier strike group station nearby.

China is not ready.

This is a modern short conflict, not a protracted 1800's decade-long war. There are so many ways to get past that; Chinese ships can fly foreign flags. China's navy (massively larger and superior) would proactively hunt and sink Indian naval vessels, not simply follow merchant ships trying to protect them. Most importantly, this is going to be a small, contained conflict, not a full-scale war. If India turns it into a full scale (though not necessarily nuclear) war by going after merchant ships unrelated to the conflict, it's going to open all of its assets to being struck by China's army, navy, air force, and missile forces. It's basically asking for China to repeat 1962 except in fast-forward speed LOL India definitely would never escalate.

China still have alot to catch up.
Most of the robotics and manufacturing equipments in China generally use Japanese and Germany parts (precision stepper motors, sensors ..etc)
Still lacking in semiconductor chips and manufacturing equipments.

It ain't easy, Still a long way...

It has no air coverage right now at Indian ocean. Put it at disadvantage.
