Re: Military FAQ

Between J-10 and FC-1 which one is the better fighter in terms of performance and combat abilities.

Another question, is the PLAAF getting any of the FC-1 fighter?:china:

isnt the answer obviously the j-10? it has an engine that actually wrks properly, more manuverabilty do to canards, and probably a bigger payload. it can kill flankers. the fc-1 is some cheap plane made for pakistan. its avionics dont look as nice as j-10s either, from what weve seen. Theres a reason that the j-10 is in service, and the fc-1 is not.

Re: Military FAQ

JF-17/FC-1 have not gotten it's production certificate yet. it's still in development stages. until it actually start rolling out of factories, we don't really know if it's going to be used by the PLAAF. pakistan already decided to buy them, but PLAAF is still on the fence.

Re: Military FAQ

I have a question, how capable is the J-10 compared to F-16. What versions of F-16 is equal to J-10?

Re: Military FAQ

I have some questions that no one seems to want to try to answer.

I already read the thread in this forum about PLA training.

Question..What sort of hi-tech training do PLA 2 year conscripts in all services recieve? I mean how long is it? I know the PLAN has nuke subs. How long to those nuke techs go to school? As an example USN nuke tech go to school for two years. that's the total lenght of PLA conscript service.

No one has of yet given me a concrete answer. I posed similar questions in the PLAN and Military discussion.

Don't any of you guys know? Or does the PLA have some sort of "super natural" training method for their hi-tech weaponary?

naval training in china in the past is not very goood due largely to the maoist concept thatfaith in communism can overcome and loyalty can replace techonical training. However in the late 80sthe plan shift more towards it. Right now there are still problmes crew of 112 have to learn english to operate some of the weapons and the crew of the 167 are mostly officers beacuse only they have enough experince.Right now there are no conscripts in the plan they havent been used scince the early 80s

Re: Military FAQ

Well I have to admit i cant say much about PLAs training, but before someone gets to it I like to point out, that its rather short minded to doom conscripts automatically inneffective to operate specilised equipment...Expecially when the conscripts is so unhumanly long like in china (two years...thats like TJ720!!!!!! !!!!)
Thougth i have little idea how its works with navy, but least in ground forces, the conscription cannot be judged so inneffective. In finland we serve six months, and a twelve, months if serving as NCO or specialised. And there havent been any serious talks that it couse inexperienced crews. Its more matter of timeshare than total ammount of time....

Thanks for that answer Darth. may the "Force" be with you!:) No conscripts in the PLAN? All volunteers? Interesting. I learn something new everyday.

Gollevainen, I did not mean to infer that concsripts were a poor choice. I just don't think that two years is long enough to train anyone on high tech equipment. That's all.

When the US armed forces had conscripts(draftees) until January '73 they were all drafted into the Army. When they recieved their notice of selection in the mail. They had a choice. Come in on the day requested for your interview and physical or join the USN, USAF, USMC or Coast Guard. If they did join the Army it was only 2 years of service. But if they joined the other service's that meant 4 years...Or they could luck out and be sent to one of the other services for 2 years when they reported. 1 in 10 draftee was automatically sent to the USMC. ..

Thanks again for kinda sorta answering my question.
