AFAIK, the type 15 may go where the t-90 cant. So, i dont know how the two would fare against each other.

Well what do you expect them to say? That the tanks don’t work and will get steamrolled by the Chinese?

That said I find it telling that he didn’t mention whether the T-90s and T-72s work well at high altitudes. He mentioned the cold, yes, but low oxygen at high altitude seems a glaring omission.

I really cannot be bothered to even read Indian media drivel on military topics because they've rarely been accurate but the claim that Type 15 can't survive in battle against the latest Indian T-90 variants doesn't really surprise. The T-90 has a considerably bigger gun and heavier armour. However just like you mentioned, the key to the Type 15 is mobility and honestly the Type 15's digital equipment and fire control should be far superior to even the Type 99. Where the T-90 can be deployed, so too can Type 96A and possibly even Type 99 early variants (non Type 99A).

The Type-15 won't be anywhere near the T-90. Its only purpose there is fire support.

What Indians aren't yet understanding, is that their own armor is deployed defensively. But the PLA (like all competent armies) only deploys heavy armor if it is planning to maneuver aggressively. That's why the T-99s are in the back right now, and they will be forward deployed if/when needed. It's much easier for China to flood armor into a region like Depsang Plains quickly, than it would be for India because of simple geography alone, and that's not even counting the much better logistical infrastructure on the Chinese side.
