I would support Crobato and disagree with you this time! that looks definitely Q5 (new variant?)! Even the Chinese comments below it say it's a Q5.

Nanchang plant is desparate,the factory plant already lease to cigarate company.economically the nanchang aircraft co is already bankrupt.

I didn't say it's not a Q-5, but that it's such a crazy idea. Didn't think mig-19 still had this much life left to it.

OK, I mis-read your post. Sorry!
My suggestion is that they convert all the Q-5, J-6 and some old J-7 to drones, carry bombs to do suicide attack :rofl:

iraq actually trying to convert there old czech L-29 trainer and retire MiG in to a attack UAV,but the facilities was bomb by the US .
Old soviet converted there MiG-15/17 into a target drone ,but not attack drone.since it will very expensive to maintain it,second there vulnerability,third,most of the component for the old aircraft already cease production, to re open the production line will be too expensive.

this is an article basically saying that CAC is working hard this season to ensure the deliveries of all the fighter jets on time and it showed a JF-17 there, not sure if it's specifically point to JF-17.

OK, a quick question, when was this pix taken? Because it looks quite similar to a pix when the PT-04 was nearly to fly (of course they are two different pix, just very similar)
