Yup using Nihon Carbon technology since NICALON™ was the first mass produced CMC product successfully developed in 1983.

That is why NGS's senior partner is Nihon Carbon K.K. owning 50% of stock not GE.

CMC are not merely components either, CFM International won't have an engine without the material since they are developing the engine with it.

So what is exactly Japanese turbofan engine in operational now? do you understand my question? ... google it :p

lol, you're great guys... One good post from a knowledgeable user like @b787 and it all became quiet. Some users here should just stick to political matters where you can't be proven wrong most of the time...

That specific texts of mine was PART of F-136 engine.

Your link here does NOT produce an evident of F-136 in 2009 USED Nihon Carbon produced CMC. Does it?

Please, provide an evident to back up your claim and stop dodging the question, or stop talking if you can't provide such evident. I am pretty tired of talking to a wall.

No, it did NOT become all quiet. Actually I replied and still expecting an answer from b787, see my post #29.

Don't claim something too eager when things are not settled yet. And why don't you provide something that actually related to engines, blades etc?

Zoltek Corporation sued the US government.

Here is the court hearing.

Basically this patent trial is arguing if the US government used Nihon Carbon's technology in producing the F-22 engine or they had infringed Zoltek Corporation patents in which case if you read through the document you'll find alot mentioning Nihon Carbon, Ube, NICALON, Tyranno Fiber, etc.
By the way Zoltek is a US subsidiary of Toray Japan

The relevant facts are undisputed.   The United States contracted with Lockheed Martin Corporation (“Lockheed”) to design and build the F-22 fighter.   Zoltek, 51 Fed.Cl. at 831.   Lockheed subcontracted for two types of silicide fiber products that it uses in the aircraft.   The first is a pre-impregnated material made from Nicalon silicon carbide fibers.   These fibers are partially carbonized and manufactured into sheets in Japan, which are then imported into the United States.   The second is a silicide fiber mat made from Tyranno fibers.   The Tyranno fibers are manufactured exclusively in Japan, but they are processed into mats in the United States.   Zoltek, 58 Fed.Cl. at 690.

Do you wish to go on?

Well, I see a challenge from you. My answer is "I wish to go on if you begin to bring in relevant information, I will not go on to waste my time if you do not stop dragging unrelated matters to muddy the water."

I don't have time to continue reading your link as now you are dragging patent dispute to prove usage of Japanese technology. However, if I take what you said in this post as a base, Zoltek is claiming patent infringement.

But remember, patent means someone made an official registration of one's invention. It does not equal to being the first to invent it, nor does it equal to other's not inventing same technology independently, there are many examples. So in short, your new link does not stand against my post.

One good example of patent infringement dispute was "Apple sue Samsung for its phone resembles Iphone too much". Does that case by Apple prove that Apple actually invented rectangular form with round corner? It means nothing, so is your Zoltek case.

Also, this post of yours again prove that you keep on muddying the water. Remind you that you started about Nihon Carbon, its involvement in the new joint venture. Now you drag in Zoltek/Toray. Even if Zoltek case prove something. What does that have anything to do with your original point of Nihon Carbon?

You must stick within the premeter that was set by yourself.

yes, samuraiblue himself/herself admitted he is no expert, he is just googling around and post them here with little knowledge of it as he/she admitted himself/herself. Taxiya and b787 know what they are talking about

I fail to see your point. Are you saying GE9X=LEAP? The link provided by you does not say so. I quote

and my original texts that you commented was

LEAP was first run in 2013.
IHI's involvement in GE9X has not started before that article in July 2014.

IHI being included in GE9X has nothing to do with LEAP. I don't see any contradiction between my post and your link.
GE9X is an engine for the B-777, it is a much powerful engine than the leap engine that is for the A-320 can you get the point? GE does indeed rely on Japan for several engines parts, i can not say Japan is ahead of England, but Japan is well positioned in the jet engine industry.

The F-3 tech demonstrator is flying with domestic engines with TVC nozzles, yes they are of lower thrust than the engines fitted to the Chinese Su-27s clones, but i do not see the Chinese flying J-31 with domestic engines even L-15.

I can not compare if Japan is ahead or behind because both nations are just making now prototypes and in the case of Japan its engines are not so powerful, but they are powering their aircraft with domestic engines, while China is basically using Russian engines despite they have some jet engine prototypes

And my question remains, to remind you, what point were you trying to make regarding that specific texts of mine?

My texts was not a stand alone piece, they are a part of a whole post. In that very post, I have stated that nobody (at least me) deny that Japan is advanced in many areas. So don't take offence, but I don't need to be reminded by anybody.

Also, I would question you. What does China using Russian engines for SOME of her jets have anything to do with my original post that you referred? And remind you, China has fielded hundreds of WS-10, not just prototypes according to you. Are you just trying to diverge the topic due to your "looking-down on China" issue?

Please stay in the premeters of the discussion. If you want to belittle Chinese Engine, go to the relevant thread, we have one in SDF.
