Happy ten year anniversary since first flight!

Video included some new footages and mostly rehashed old info with the exception of one reveal: J-20 has reduced its weight by 200KG during the developmental process.

Yankee's article reveals that a J-20 from Wuhu has destroyed a target drone during RedSword-2019.

The unsung heroes behind the development and construction of J-20. One interesting tidbit is that 3D printed parts are used on the J-20.
Hmmm...so the unit at Wuhu is THE one named after PLAAF (PVA) ace Wang Hai?

It's been 10 years since the maiden flight of the first technology demonstrator (2001). Some high-resolution images to mark the ocassion.

I don't know how reliable such claim is but SCMP claims that China will stop buying more jet engines from Russia because the conditions to obtain more engines is to buy more Su-35.

“It’s impossible for China to rely on the Russian engine, because Russia asked China to purchase more Su-35 fighter jets in exchange for the AL-31F engine deals,” the insider, who requested anonymity, said.
“The key problem is – except for its longer combat range advantage – the radar, navigation system and other electronic components on the Su-35s are inferior to Chinese aircraft like the J-16 strike fighter.”

Lightning may not strike twice but Minnie Chan strikes this forum over and over and over...

Why he has an iPad?

It is not an iPad. It is a tablet for log keeping mounted on the thigh of the pilot. Those used to be pencil and paper before an electronic version was developed.

Other than familiarity with canard-delta platform (J-10), I wonder if weight saving was also a part of CAC's consideration when developing the J-20.
