Do you mean satellite can see through the metal roof of the hanger? Even more, not only see through, but also clear enough to identify the type of aircraft? By what tech?
Synthetic aperture radar based on satellites or uav (rq180)

You still need to fly and land the aircraft from a different base. After landing you'll need to taxi the aircraft to the hanger. You can't just teleport the vehicle directly to the hanger.

SAR penetrate metal sheet? SAR is not magic. It only increase the effective apature, it does not defeat the fact that matel plate stops radio wave (except X or Gama rays or above) from passing.

your words was
Hangers won’t prevent military satellites from spotting the aircraft

I hope this is a wakeup call for the construction of hangers for the PLA, seriously, live military reconnaissance from on social media/forums.

So I got the impression that you were talking about aircraft being spotted when sitting inside hanger.

I should’ve been clearer in my original message. My apologies.

That said I think hangers are primarily for sheltering the aircraft (be it the elements or enemy munition) instead of concealing them. Enemy intel can extrapolate how many aircraft you have based on the number of hangers.

actually i think hangers are extremely important in terms of concealing the aircrafts. Say you have 100 hangers in an airbase but you only park 24 aircrafts in them, it is really difficult for the enemy to decide which hanger to strike with their precious PGM.
What you said earlier is right, we cannot teleport the aircraft to the hangers directly, but at the same time it is nearly impossible to keep track of exactly which hanger has an aircraft in it and which hanger is empty.

Ideally, hangars would be simply reinforced shelters. Made just strong enough to stop submunitions. Those are usually stopped by spaces armour, so the roof structure wouldn't need to be heavy but simply tall, with enough space between metal/plastic/concrete sheets so the blast dissipates.

Of course, the shelters would need to be cheap enough so 3 to 4 times as many as planes could be built. And the base should have enough area for so many planes. Both of those requirements aren't exactly super easy to achieve. Units need to be moved around in war and some bases might need to double their usual capacity. Some bases would thus need 150 to 200 shelters.

Interestingly, I am not sure that us actually even has a potent stand off subumunition dispenser arsenal. Tomahawks have long been only with unitary warheads. Alcms as well. There is one jsow variant with submunitions but it's an unpoweres glider, with limited reach. Various cluster bombs us uses don't have wing kits and are even more limited in reach.

After silencing the SAMs and radar, usually the runway gets hit first so that no plane can leave or return back to the tarmac.
After that the aggressor force can drop as many dumb bomb as they like to flatten the base.
