certainly WS-15 considering Nozzle length and no visible silver ring. so chendgu guy was right. there are couple of J-20As with WS-15 Engines.

so production already begun in December month ?

It’s akin to J-11B first batch where they used AL-31. It is a transition phase so they can get the pilots up to speed with new capabilities.

They created an entirely new derivative of an aircraft engine just as a transition for pilot training? I doubt it, especially if the difference between WS-10C2 and WS-15 debut is merely a year or two.

WS-10C2 likely has other applications, such as being an easier retrofit for existing airframes that use WS-10C and aren't designed for WS-15 without needing a major overhaul.

WS-10C2 first noticed in 2024 but yeah your point is valid.

don't forget those large CCAs being shown in Military parade.. powered by WS-10C single Engines. so can be replace with more advance variant like C2.

Yep, and that'll solve 90% our problems just because>90% J-20A aircraft will be with ws-15.

90%?, why not ~100% ? why would PLAAF want to put other engine on J-20A, except the first 1 or 2

Fair enough. Just to be sure, the J-20A with WS-10CX engines was the best fighter indeed and it only got better with WS-15 engines.

You could argue the J-20 with WS-10C engines was also the best fighter, but there is a lot we don't know. The J-20A got a huge revision of its sensors and avionics besides engine upgrades so it definitely takes the top spot without doubt.

Do you think China would upgrade the previous J-20 to J-20A sensors and avionic standard or close? not sure whether its viable?
