Despite the downplaying by the USA, the J-20 seems more like a missile than a plane to me. It has a unique aerodynamic configuration because, compared to Euro-canards, the foreplanes are much wider and the wings are much smaller. I wonder if this could positively influence its stealthiness.
This is a 21 meter long, 13 meter wide aircraft and size-wise the canards in J-20's case are more like horizontal stabs installed more to the front...

If the J-20 had a more conventional design, the horizontal stabs would've ended up being similar in size to the canards anyway, just look at F-22's and Kaan's stabilisers and try telling me they are smaller... It's because these aircraft are air-superiority fighters that are expected to operate at high altitudes, and you need either TVC or larger surfaces to be able to maneuver.

In reality J-20 has a wing area of 78 m2, just because the wings look relatively small doesn't mean they actually are.

It’s the wing’s aspect ratio that’s small. Area wise it is large, which is par for the course for a delta.

Is that really J20A with WS-15 engine as claimed by Hurin? The engine sound is similar to those of J20 flying in last 2022(2023) Zhuhai airshow.

I agree and actually I’m no longer sure … especially the pointed and not more rounded radome looks more like a regular J-20.

Just a usual J-20A w/ WS-10C.

However the ventral strakes aren't completely grayed out like, say the 2052 and 2055. So one of the earlier models?

It's ridiculously obvious that is a current production standard J-20 rather than a J-20A, simply on the basis of the spine as Deino mentioned.
But you even correctly identify the ventral strakes aren't fully grayed out (rather than grayed out internally) -- fully grayed out ventral strakes are a sign of J-20A as well, starting from prototype 2051 even with its initial blurry pictures.

My advice to anyone reading Hurin's tweets is to just ignore his account.
If you have to watch his account, then at least do yourself the favour of just looking at the photos or videos and ignoring anything that he writes.
