Come on gents, no need to give up the ship so soon, Heh!, Heh! the last batch had 3 birds ending with 2101, no 2102 ever materialized??? so we have 2102, 2103, 2104, there may yet be a 2105 this fall as the previous batches were 4 birds??? that's the most likely scenario, unless we have some compelling reason to believe production has been ramped up.

These more advanced maneuvers would indicate that they are quite happy with the configuration and seem to have the FCS in a very good place, well done Chengdu, hopefully we will see a full display at Zuhai shortly.

Man! I'm totally confused. All I can be sure is they got 2 new ones because of those new photos of two planes flying side by side. All the others look like just one to me...

So they've got one plane with the splinter camo and supposedly others with uniform paint. What's so special about the one with the splinter camo? I mean why not just paint all of them with splinter camo if they decide this is the way to go? A paint scheme with multiple colors and patterns might allow us to tell them apart and count how many planes they've got though...

I guess its for Air show only. They will remain the 201x paint

Does that mean they will send only one to the show since only one has been painted with camo pattern? I thought they were sending two...

I expect they'll send both. Whether the splinter paint scheme is related to the airshow, or if they're trialling it for the Air Force and it just happens that the airshow is around the corner, or maybe a mix, is another matter.

Personally I don't think they would paint an aircraft a dedicated manner just for an airshow or a parade, it doesn't seem like them.

there you go, a very logical well thought solution to the question at hand, likely accurate assessment as well

So unless we see a greatly expanded production facility??, (always possible), I would suspect the production rate will slowly increase as means and processes become more streamlined.

I would remind everyone, that even LockMart basically built the first F-22's by hand, even with all their expertise at building special aircraft, P-38, F-104, SR-71, F-22, and now the F-35 has a much more "stream lined process", the center fuse being welded in a robotic production facility by North Rupp Grumman.
