Sorry, when I said "their training" I meant -- "all their training".

Training for certain scenarios with English obviously is fine and should be done, but if all of their DACT or BCM training is done with only English, that would be weird.
Not just weird, it would be highly dangerous. Chinese pilots do not speak English as first language, talking to each other in English in a war stressed environment would create lag time and an incomprehensible situation.

He is an Ex F18 pilot.

These Americans have quite a nasty attitude. First of all, PLAAF pilots are NOT trained with English as well as USAF tactics, as a standard. These guys are not the norm in the PLAAF. I believe they are the same as the PLAGF OPFOR (专业蓝军). The designated OPFOR units in the PLAGF are known to have NATO organization structure, its officers speaks English, and even with western style military rations and meals.

This ex-pilot misses no chance to imply that the entire PLAAF "stole" their authentic American tactics. While in reality, a good OPFOR units are supposed to mimic your enemy or potential opponent. Amateur American propaganda.

Well, the dude has some very valid points about the cockpit video being totally out of sync with the HUD.
It's very poor editing on the People's Daily part.

Nor can we expect the PLAAF to deliver images with information that may be considered sensitive. At one point the image of what appears to be one of the prototypes of the J-10 (2 x PL-8) is seen making one of the turns to the left, which undoubtedly has nothing to do with these ACMs.

Doesn't have good physiognomy, will ignore.
To be honest, the Video didn't impress anyone. What was the point of even uploading such a video? . The Pilot was turning his head around and above searching for the other fighter jet in the whole video. Didn't even give the impression that the HUD or the Cockpit information display was in use. The PLAAF could have released a better Training Video. If they released it for publicity, they could have done much better.

It's a great video to "inspire" twelve year old or so to become aspiring fighter pilot. Or the wider public to gain a basic insight what a fighter pilot does. In that sense it doesn't need to be realistic. These fighting scenes and editing are not much better than the Top Gun movie (where the US navy had a big say in, because it had to make the Navy look good). It's not aimed to prove to anyone how skilled the PLAAF is.

He is an Ex F18 pilot.

He's good in explaining professional stuff to the general public and giving some basic insights in the culture and processes, but of course very biased towards an adversary. He's quite cynical in general I guess.

If you search for the YT channel (the ready room) you'll find a ex-hornet pilot who is a bit more objective and less cynical in that sense. Also while discussing his fights against the su 30 and the mig 29. Perhaps he's got to think about his civilian career as well or because Malaysia is not deemed am adversary like China.
