Another reason I want more countries to buy J-10s is that they can apply much more interesting livery on the jets, unlike the dull looking PLAAFs. I mean just look at PAF j-10, it's so much better
My reason is more selfish — I want cash flow to war profiteers who “combat proof” their weapons on third world children reduced.

Guancha Trios previously indicated PAF has a unit regularly deployed in Saudi Arabia. The unit returns home only when necessary, such as war is coming.
No, it’s not the units, but individual pilots who go on deputation for training.

Moreover, it’s not just the Air Force, Army and Navy personnel are also regularly stationed in GCC states for security and training purposes.

Pakistan is sponsored by the Persian Gulf Arab states. That is how they get the money as simple as that.
While it’s true that Pakistan has historically received financial assistance from Gulf states like Saudi Arabia and the UAE, it's an oversimplification to say the country is simply 'sponsored' by them.

Pakistan’s economy is influenced by a mix of factors including international loans, remittances, trade, and domestic challenges. If Pakistan were fully 'sponsored,' it wouldn’t currently be under an IMF program or carrying tens of billions in external debt.

The reality is far more complex than a one-source funding narrative.

Shit, GOOD! I was wondering how/if we get paid for anything we send. If that's the case, lay it on! HQs, J-35's, KJ-700's, HALE drones, give 'em the works and send the bill to the gulf arabs! Turn Pakistan into the warrior nation of the Muslim world.

That sounds dramatic, but geopolitics doesn’t really work like a shopping spree. Pakistan’s defense acquisitions and foreign aid come with strings attached, whether it’s from Gulf states, US/EU or the IMF. Gulf support while real is often short-term, politically motivated, and conditional.

Transforming any country into a “warrior nation” isn’t just about hardware. It requires long-term economic stability, political will, strategic vision, and above all, sustainable funding which Pakistan currently struggles with, given its debt levels and reliance on IMF programs. It’s a lot more complicated than just “send the bill to the Gulf.”

This. Actually why don't several Gulf states pool some money together to fund an "independent" mercenary air force that can be contracted to fulfil air superiority needs on an as needed basis. This would allow the Gulf states to effectively project power (at arms length with a layer of deniability) into places like Palestine or Iraq.

That’s a pretty unrealistic and somewhat problematic idea. Pakistani forces are not mercenaries they are a professional, sovereign military serving a nation with its own strategic interests and sacrifices.

The notion that Gulf states could “pool funds” to rent Pakistan’s military power like a mercenary air force not only misrepresents Pakistan’s role but also disrespects the country’s sovereignty and the integrity of its armed forces.

Pakistan has deep-rooted regional interests and a complex security doctrine shaped by its own history and challenges; it's not a tool for foreign proxy wars.

Any support from Gulf states, financial or otherwise, doesn't buy control over Pakistan’s military decisions.

Strategic partnerships are one thing, but outsourcing a national military for deniable foreign agendas is another and that’s not how Pakistan operates.

Why was shenyang favoured and even corrupt officials just to favour them?
What? Reread sentence; I don't understand exactly what you are asking. Basically what happened is that Shenyang bribed critical officials to award them the next gen fighter project over Chengdu but Song's presentation and J-10 design was so far superior, they couldn't bear to go through with what they were bribed to do realizing how much damage they'd be inflicting on Chinese aerospace by denying Song's project from coming to fruition. That's the story I heard from a very serious and long Chinese documentary (not a cartoon) on the development of the J-10.

Yankeesama addresses J-10CE export rumors:

1) There is probably element of truth to the Indonesian rumor but it is probably more political shitposting (overpriced Rafale shot down by Temu fighter, attack on opposition) than a sincere effort at acquisition.
2) Algeria sent several elderly former PLAAF trained pilots to China on a good will trip and there has been several high profile engagements with Chinese embassy. Probably a lot more serious and likely than Indonesia.
3) Egypt is probably most likely of the rumored bunch cause the J-10C performed really well in joint exercise and right upon its conclusion it started killing IAF assets IRL. This will shut up the Western jet simps within EAF who would rather buy neutered planes at exorbitant prices but time will tell whether they are going to overcome the massive U.S.-Israelis political hurdles against acquiring Chinese combat aircraft. There is added uncertainty of South Koreans fucking with the deal with KF-21 carrot because that’s what they do, having tethered national pride with their MIC.
3) Good news is that several clients are confirmed. The aircraft in primer that we saw may be destined for Uzbekistan.

On a lighter note, the PAF should probably ask for a slice of the pie from upcoming sales or discounts for their upcoming new units.

After all, it was their pilots who actually put the J-10CE through its paces and did the real “killing.” It just goes to show that behind every advanced machine, it’s always the skill of the men who truly matter.

You could say they’ve been the best promoters of the aircraft.... :D:D
