We have frequent fighter jets (MIG-29 and SU-30MKM) flying high over my home, and several dog fight trainings in high altitude as well. They left contrails that last from 15 minutes to more than half an hour depending on wind condition. The photo is real. WW2 bombers missions and Battle of England dogfights also left contrails lasting long time.

You must be from Malaysia. It's the only country in the world that has both MiG 29s and SU-30 MKM.

A long exposure that is this dark would have to be taken in the middle of the night, which is obviously not the case.

It depends on the lense, exposure time, and if any filters were used. In any case, it's an unnecessary theory if the contrails can remain up there for so long.

Yes you are right. KL is Kuala Lumpur.

MIG-29, SU-30MKM and also FA-18D in our airforce, very odd combination.

Yeah... obvious overlap in F/A-18D. and Mig-29.

WIll you guys get rid of one type?
I hope Mig-29 is on the chopping block personally.

Someone mentioned that the J-15 has a retractable IFR probe. Does that mean it can retract into the plane when not in use? Does the J-10B have this feature?

Yes, and no.

J-15's retractable IFR looks like typical russian flanker style retractable IFRs. J-10B has a fixed IFR from prototypes we've seen.
