I though they have nearly 80 of these things in service, how can there still be crashes,

Right now there are more than 1000 F-35s built, and there have been F-35 crashes every single year since 2020. There can be lots of factors.

is this the Tejas that was leaking? If so then that has to have something to do with it.

Wondering about that as well.

Is the Tejas's FBW fully electric or it used a conventional system with hydraulic actuators?. If what was leaking was related to the hydraulic system, it could have suffered a loss of reponsiveness due to the leak, IF it is related in someway.

RIP, sincere condolences.

Indian Twitter sphere already cooking up conspiracies it may have been a sabotage due to proximity to PAF presence. They don't even respect their own casualties.

Unfortunately yes and as I just noted to my publisher while seeing this "Damit wird die mediale Schlacht zwischen IND und PAK natürlich in die nächste Runde gehen und sie ird unsachlich und schmutzig! Traurig!!" aka "This will of course propel the media battle between IND and PAK into the next round, and it will become unfair and dirty! Sad." since idiots on both sides mis-use it for their own agenda & propaganda.

So on the one side Pakistani idiots are posting images of roasted samosas and Indian idiots spin fancy conspiracies ! We should not even think about participating in this and anyone who starts this way of misuse or make fun of it will face severe consequences without any warning.

Therefore again R.I.P. and condolence to the family.

Could a safe ejection even be possible with the way it crashed? The plane was almost doing a dive. I feel like even if the ejection seat engaged the pilot would've still impacted the ground. RIP to the pilot.
