So that begs the question, they know that the PLA can target every individual hangar down to the centimeter with rockets ans artillery guns, so why would they be doing this.
I don't know effective artillery is in such mountainous terrain but I'm sure it's worse than on flat terrains. Both targeting and placement should be very challenging with mountains obstructing.

India may simply be implying "if you can do it, we can too".

I think these forward bases help ground troops on the border.

If nothing else this is some of the most interesting news we've had in some time, no pointless bluffing, things genuinely happening. If conventional guns aren't ideal then surely the rocket units should work.

Pretty well situated. That's how bases are typically placed in mountains.

Artillery is very effective at high altitudes because the range is much further due to less air resistance.

Jai hinds often claim PLAAF is at a disadvantage in having its bases on the Plateau, necessitating longer takeoff runs and smaller loads (they don't mention immediately having a 30kft height advantage over aircraft taking off from the lowlands). I wonder what they'll say now?

then I assume the logic is by pushing the base so close while still inside the mountains, they're forcing the PLAAF to deploy J20s, and being so close they can nullify most of the advantages of the J20.
I don't see how any J-20 advantage is nullified. It is just artillery that has difficulty here. For example, where would you place your artillery unit to target this base and how will you move it into position? Movement in mountains is already very difficult for infantry, forget large equipment. Mortars at best, towed artillery have not much room to maneuver and restricted to valleys.

Hi,
I think this forward operational base in future might be for the use of usaf airforce, as mentioned by
Trump to take back one of the bases from Afghanistan for china specific which looks bleak at the moment
and with recent exercises with USAF and IAF these kind of bases might be a stepping stone for china specific
