Well, since their primary concern as a company is to sell their product, they would use the numbers in the best conditions for every category.
Everyone Private Aeronautical Company around the world would do that but HAL is a public sector company it’s owned by government of India

Egypt Shows Interest In Procuring Tejas Jets, Other Platforms From India
It is learnt that the Egyptian side is also looking at procuring Akash missiles and smart anti-airfield systems from India.

The Egyptian side conveyed its keenness on acquiring the Indian platforms during delegation-level talks between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, people familiar with the matter said.

The 68-year-old influential Arab leader arrived here on a three-day visit on Tuesday. He will grace the Republic Day celebrations as the chief guest on Thursday.

Latest rumours suggest India is going to opt for more Scorpenes and relax the AIP requirement for P-75I to induce more vendors to bid.

There is clearly some meaning of the word "expedited" that I was not previously aware of.

If South Korea's offer is not compelling, and Germany's lack of participation does not owe to AIP clause but rather to other concerns, then the effect of dropping AIP requirement is only to add France and Russia into the mix. What about Japan? Quad buddies should stick together, right?

Prima facie there would seem to be a case for India to go Russian to balance French influence, but beyond the immediate sensitivites about signing a major defence acquisition program with Russia in the near future, I don't think it is much of a secret that Russia already has some level of involvement in India's nuclear submarine programs.
Pls avoid using IDRW as a source for anything.

its the least credible indian defence news site out there.

Now it seems that India has been able to break a deal with USA for complete transfer of 85KN class turbofan engine technology
To see things into perspective

The Kaveri engine which India started developing in 1989 for Tejas was meant to be a 81KN class engine it has achieved 73KN of stable thrust and it's dry variant has to be used in GHATAK UCAV drone

The other engine which India is working on is 130KN engine for their upcoming AMCA Stealth fighter jet

The Pratt and Whitney engine used in F35 has a 190KN thrust and it's by far the best turbofan engine in the world

If India succeeds in making a 130KN engine which is as reliable as the western engines Indian fighter jets would be the first choice of many East Asian and Middle Eastern Countries

As India is inching closer and closer to perfect the turbofan engine technology US is willing to transfer the 98KN class engine technology to India
GE applies for US clearance for tech transfer of jet engines to India

I made a mistake The engine is 85KN class GE F-404 (not 98KN GE F414)
85KN is not sufficient to power Tejas MK2 or AMCA but it can power Tejas MK1 and maybe even TEDBF because it's twin engine aircraft

Tejas MK1 has Israeli ELTA 2052 Radar so it cannot carry meteor but Tejas MK1A will come with Indian UTTAM AESA Radar and hence will be able to carry Meteor
No...
Both the MK1 and MK1A Tejas could theoretically carry a meteor missile (as could a moped). But I highly doubt that MBDA will allow meteor source code to be provided to India for them to integrate it with the Indian UTTAM AESA Radar. Just because MBDA said no to integrating Meteor with Israeli radar does not mean they will allow it with any other (Indian) radar. By your logic, when Su-30 MKI is upgraded with Indian radar, MBDA and European governments will somehow allow them to get Meteor for those fighters since it's an Indian radar.

Yes that's my point once Su30MKI gets upgraded with Upscaled version of UTTAM AESA radar it would be able to carry Meteor missiles because MBDA has said that they can integrate meteor missile either with European radar or with the Indian Radar not with Israeli or Russian Radars
Now coming to Tejas MK1A , The Baseline UTTAM AESA Radar has 736 TR module and a range of 150 kilometers but the UTTAM MK2 has 968 TR Module and the range is beyond 200 kilometres
Initially the plan was to install the baseline UTTAM AESA Radar on Tejas MK1A and UTT MK2 on MWF (Tejas MK2) but since the Tejas MK1A got delayed DRDO was able to perfect the UTTAM MK2 (utilising the gap)
hence the plan was changed and now HAL has decided to use UTTAM MK2 AESA Radar for both MK1A and MK2 jet since the size of nose cone of both the jets is the same
and the range of UTTAM MK2 AESA Radar justifies the integration of meteor the Mark 1 version had a range of 150 kilometre only

MBDA has no problem integrating Meteor Missiles if Tejas has European or Indian made Radar but if it has Israeli Radars they cannot integrate it

And if they have no problem integrating Meteor with Indian Radar means even Su30MKI can carry and fire meteor missiles once upgraded with Upscaled version of UTTAM AESA Radar not to mention the mission computer of Su30MKI is Indian made
