DRDO & Naval Group France sign agreement to integrate DRDO’s Fuel Cell-based Air Independent Propulsion system in Kalvari-class submarines. An agreement was signed to enter into detailed design phase for integration of indigenous AIP in the Kalvari class submarines.

As part of the agreement, Naval Group France will certify the AIP design for integration in the submarines.

If DRDO's AIP module can be drop fit in 2025 (which means that it must be more or less ready now) then IN's insistence on foreign AIP for P-75I is even sillier given that those submarines will definitely be finalised post-2025. Of course the other reason the AIP requirement is silly is because it eliminates what would otherwise be the two most obvious contenders in France and Russia from the outset. I almost wonder if that is the point.

Indian navy hardly imports anything
Almost all warships except for one Russian aircraft carrier (Admiral gorshkov) in Indian navy are completely made in India
How come Indian airforce relies heavily on imported fighter jets ?
Is it because Indian made fighter jets use American engines and may face maintenance issues in case of American Sanctions?

The ships are assembled in India but are in no way indigenous. Israeli radar and SAM, Italian guns, Russian CIWS, Ukrainian turbines and BrahMos are still not fully built in India. Building a fighter jet is much more complex than building a hull and assembling foreign parts.

By that logic even F22 raptor is not indigenous to US because it has British ejection seat and European missile meteor installed apart from various other systems and subsystems imported from other countries

The hull represents a fairly small % of the cost of a warship. What % by value of the engines, systems, radars, sonars and weapons of IN ships are imported?

You can Google it everything is available on internet.
As of 2022 indigenous content in the Tejas Mark 1 is 59.7% by value and 75.5% by number of line replaceable units.
Indigenous content will increase further in Mark1A because it will use more Indian made components most important of which is Gallium Arsenide UTTAM AESA Radar

News is coming that development of a 130KN turbofan engine in India for AMCA Stealth fighter jet is about to be approved by CCS
The engine has to enter service after 9 years of development
even if it fails to achieve 130KN and achieves 110KN thrust it may not be able to power AMCA in that case but would still be more than enough to power LCA Tejas MK1A and MK2
